Andrew Nock Photography Wins Best In Show

Best In Show
Andrew Nock is a local photographer. They have been in business for 14 years and last night he attended the Delaware Professional Photographers First Print Competition of the year. This is the first time he has ever submitted entries into the competition and he walked away with Best in Show (wedding/candid non master), 1st, 2nd. and 3rd place (wedding/candid).

He recently entered the Professional Photographers of America Magazine Cover contest and won Honorable Mention out of 50,000 entries. This is what really encouraged him to go ahead and submit some of his images. This really is quite and honor and 2 out of the 4 images qualified to move onto the regional competition. Andy is a wonderful photographer and they are really concentrating on taking their business to whole other level.

What an honor!! Kim & Andy are truly professional and are a pleasure to work with. They photographed my wedding a few years ago and I feel their work was top-notch back then. Congratulations, you deserve it!

You know, I was reading the comments on this thinking to myself, "finally, a positive story with all positive comments, nobody trying to inject something negative on these people"....then I read Anon 5:09's comment.
I do not know these people so I cannot comment on them one way or another, but as someone who might be looking for a photographer in the future, I was impressed with the comments...all but one.
In one sense I thought, "it's a shame Joe ruined it with letting that one through", but then quickly my thought turned to "but if he didn't,then some would wonder if there were negative ones he didn't let through".
Can't win for losing sometimes I guess.
Nonetheless, it was still a good feeling for however long it lasted.

I want to say something here so EVERYONE understands.

Salisbury News has grown to a point in which I cannot personally moderate ALL comments.

I have removed anonymous 5:09 because I happen to agree with you. However, let me explain something else to you. While the person moderating comments does a better than fantastic job, they are bombarded with comments day in and day out. Hundreds upon hundreds of comments come in daily and we have to sift through them all. If the person filling in didn't write the article, they're not privy to some of the off the cuff comments. If you just saw that comment come in on it's own and not attached to an article it would seem somewhat harmless, wouldn't you agree anonymous 3:38?

That being said, as much as I miss reading all of the comments, I don't even have the time most of the time to come back to each Post and see what is said. I try my best but believe me, this Blog has gone through the roof and is keeping me quite busy 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. If ANY of you see a comment you feel doesn't belong, please e-mail me and I will take a look at it as soon as possible. Thanks, Joe

Joe,
I tried to be very careful in how I worded my post.
I was not attacking you, by any means and I feel that if you read it again, you will see that.
I tried my best to put myself in your shoes (even though they do seem quite a bit too large for me...lol).
That is why I clearly stated that I looked at the situation from both sides of the coin.

I, for one, appreciate what you and your helpers do with this blog site. Your site has been INVALUABLE in SO many instances.

Keep up the good work and if you were really offended, then please accept my apology.

I just want to say it has been really nice to see all the wonderful comments and personal emails we have been sent regarding this award and I must say we weren't at all surprised when we saw the one comment that is being referred to as negative. I think the comment was "Color selection is simple in photoshop." As much as we greatly appreciate the person who defended us and Joe for removing the comment, it really wasn't necessary. The person was absolutely correct. That technique is simple, but most of us are smart enough to know that there was much more that went into creating that image then that. If interjecting a negativity on someones good news is what floats this persons boat then so be it. We are very grateful to all of our wonderful clients and hope to be able to keep doing what we love for a very long time. Our sincere thanks to those who support us.
