http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9968/hr1.pdf

"Joe,

Above is a link from the budget office with a cost estimate and breakdown of the stimulus package.

Just so everyone can see it.

Also note that all republicans and 11 democrats voted against it

Here are the democrats that opposed it

Griffith, Peterson, Boyd, Bright, Kanjorski, Kratovil, Cooper, Taylor, Ellsworth, Minnick, and Shuler

Note that Kratovil was among them.

Just thought people may want to know."

Between this, and the fact that the first bill Kratovil introduced into Congress was to end automatic pay raises for Congressmen, have you guys figured out that Harris' attacks on Kratovil for being a "Liberal" were unfounded?

Kratovil is and will always be a Conservative Democrat. Joe, I wonder if this changes your opinion of our Congressman?

The amounts of money being appropriated are incredible...how is giving money to the Food Stamp Program going to stimulate the economy? Sure it frees up actual cash, but when you're on unemployment or welfare you don't have food cuz the cash the gov't already gives you goes to the rent, car pymnt, insurance, gas, and electricity (which hasn't gone down). This is insane and looks like something out of the FDR administration with all the building projects for the military, VA, homeland security projects-it'll keep some people working and create jobs for a few more-but how many of these projects are tax exempt-100%, meaning growth and busy work will not be a benefit to the economy in the long run. Instead of going to the public and saying something like "We're Americans and we'll get thru this if we pay down our debts and tighten our belts blah, blah...the media and every politician has created a crisin in our confidence of the markets globally, meaining no one is spending any more money than they have to and holding their breath, waiting for what??? The bottom to fall out. I don't know what all this means, but the stock market has gone up and down with every little thing they say because of fear-jobs are being cut because of this fear and in hopes of cutting losses.

Joe:

Kudos to Frank K. for doing the right thing and to you for getting the word out.

Regarding our Congressman, I won't say "I told you so" -- sorry, that just slipped out!

I am amazed that Kratovil actually voted no. I wrote them all and asked them to vote no. Anyway, at this pont I'm slightly optimistic that Krate' his own man.

Mikulski?

She absolutley must be voted out next time.

She has ignored us all on the immigration vote, the bailout, the bay, guns, schools, etc.

She HAS to go!

Thank goodness Harris defeated Gilchrist. If Wayne was still in congress he would have been the only republican to vote for the bill.
