Jennifer Helps Present Trophy's & Prizes

Jennifer, (my Wife on the right) has been a part of SMKC for more years than I want to tell. She has donated her time in the Hospitality Suite for many years. The Judges just adore her, (as anyone would) and she truly enjoys volunteering and participating in one of the biggest events held each year at the Wicomico Civic Center. Cathy Williams, (Cathy's Pet Salon) also helps by volunteering in the Hospitality Suite.

It was a tough year this year for this Show as entries were down some 30%. This event is a huge money maker for the Salisbury Kennel Club and because the economy is so slow right now, the rent at the Civic Center stays the same, (actually increases) while Vendors stay closer to home and refuse to travel because of gas prices.

Fortunately many of you came to visit the Show and helped out with ticket sales, thank you. However, next year could challenge this Show quite a bit if the Civic Center, (Wicomico County) doesn't lower their rates.

Nevertheless, it's Volunteers that make the Show a stronger success and even though my Wife comes home exhausted and feet killing her each day of this event, she does it for a great cause.

Joe, did you see Linda Lugo at the dog show?"

I did not see Linda but that doesn't mean she wasn't there. I wasn't there the entire time.

The question had come in and I hit reject by accident.

Joe,it was nice of you to offer her a foot rub, but she really didn't need it because she had on Nikken magnetic insoles! You are right Joe, Jennifer has assisted me in the Hospitality Suite for more years that I can remember. I really don't know what I would have done without her. Volunteering with her makes the job more and more enjoyable each year. Thanks again, Jennifer. Cathy-Jo
