Today, The New York Times leads with a smear piece entitled, "Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes." Likewise, today's Washington Post competes in the ever-further-downward spiral with its own hit piece, "As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin Cut Own Duties, Left Trail of Bad Blood." Cronyism, lashing out, cutting personal duties and a trail of blood.
NRO cites Jen Rubin's criticism of the NYT's hatchet job, finding that the facts hardly warrant the egregious language and condemnatory tone of the article. The Post article supplies even less substance - by it's rationale, every elected official who fills a cabinet with trusted allies is guilty of front-page worthy scandal.
It bears mentioning that the media have allotted absolutely no time to investigating the myriad "scandals" of Obama and Biden. If the Democratic pair were subjected to the same standard of scrutiny, the front pages of every newspaper in America would run for a week in order to capture their many scandals.
The media hates Sarah Palin. They despise her for routing radical feminism, they curse her for boosting McCain in the polls and they condescend her for the conservatism she refuses to remit. They are willing to shamelessly degrade themselves without limit in order to lend support to the Democratic ticket. Today's leading Washington Post article on Obama, even as he rolls out ads which patently lie about McCain, is titled, "Obama Points to the Issues: Ignore Attacks, Democrat Implores."
Were it not for the media's liberal bias and partisan interference, McCain would be leading Obama by twice the current spread. The greatest hindrance to enlightened democracy in America is the ignorance and prejudice promulgated by our media outlets. When every media story is crafted, manipulated or simply invented with an intent to forwarding a particular party or agenda, the free press serves no greater objective than to enslave the free will and reasonable discretion of the voting populace.

The problem is not any media bias at all, more like meida apathy or castration. The Palin new-car-smell is the story, and no one is calling her or the campaign on the lies, ditortions, half-thruths, and actual (few) ideas she has presented. Therefore, the big issues of this campaign: the war, the economy (which gets bleaker by the second,) jobs, and bread and butter issues are pushed aside so everyone can talk about this girl.
Its Obama v McCain. They are the story, no one else.
However, most shocking of all to me, was that Bill O'Reilly's newspaper column this week was rather kind and very respectful of Barack Obama and his chances this fall. Though, if Billy is now the voice of reason, we are all screwed more that I thought we were.
By the way, the use of the term "popularity" in the title of the post....
She is popular because she is new, no one knows anything about her,and is the great clebrity of the GOP. But weren't we told that celbrity candidates are bad and unfit for office?

12;06 If you dont realize the media bias in this country rush to an eye doctor immediately, becuse you are going blind. When the host of a network news agency(PMSNBC) says that he get tingles down his legs when he hears the messiah speak thats bias. All the major networks and most major newspapers are liberal . A poll was conducted recently in which a majority felt that the media are biased. Even Hillarys people complained during the primary that the media were in the tank for the messiah.

It is really sad that Palin is attacked the way she is. I understand that people don’t know her that well and she is the new face but it’s unbelievable to me how the media is trying to rip this women and her family apart. Why is the media not digging around in the dirty closets of Obama and Biden? Have we forgotten about Rev. Wright, William Ayers, and Obama’s voting record??? To me this just shows the public how intimated democrats really are of her. The media for the most part praises this man and why?? Obama is kicking himself in the ass everyday since Palin was named the VP running mate and I bet secretly Hillary is hoping Obama loses. Obama should not even be the on the democratic ticket….Hillary really won!! The CRAZY thing is that Obama should be winning by a landslide. We are coming out of 8 years of a Republican reign and this man can’t even keep a wide lead in the polls. I can honestly say that I was not going to vote either way until McCain announced this lady as his running mate. I am now voting for McCain/Palin.
I am tired of it all. The truth is no where to be found. The country is going down the tubes very quickly, and we are focusing on everything but.......
The media is the reason for "dumbing down"of America, it is easier to talk "gossip" than it is to "think" Think about what is happening and how to fix it, and how to survive and keep our life style and our country together. We need a heavy dose of "reality" to make us think that "hot candidates" are not going to solve our country's problems, and if we don't soon pay attention, we will be a 3rd world country, (for all those who do not know what that means- look it up)
So, stop wasting my time, stop "gossiping" and get serious.

that's enough for me, although I could go on. his meteoric rise to this position from NOTHING is astounding and i believe accidental. harvard grad, yes, but was sponsored by some saudi official from texas, not on his own merit.(?token? at the least affirmative action)cannot speak without being scripted(like gwb, stole McCain's mantra of change from his 2000 bid.
But there isn't enough room here to give the full picture.

The liberal media bias? Get over yourself. Most of the media gave Palin more of a break than she ever deserved. What VP nominee in history avoided interviews for as long as she did? Can't play "Face the Nation," Palin? They you can't be the one to face the nation. Or Putin. Or anyone else in the world. No matter how close you are to Russia.
