Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On September 11, 2008 at approximately 5:09 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to a residence on the four hundred (400) block of Priscilla St. for the report of a domestic argument. Upon arrival, the officers heard the below listed suspect shouting at the victim from a considerable distance. The officers attempted to meet with the suspect, who became disorderly and threatened the officers. The suspect pushed the officers and was placed under arrest. The victim required no medical attention.

ARRESTED: John Eric Shelton, 47 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Second degree assault
Obstructing and hindering an investigation
Disturbing the peace

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800034233

On September 11, 2008 at approximately 3:10 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect for an assault that occurred in July of 2008. An investigation completed by the Wicomico Co. Child Advocacy Center revealed that during that month, the suspect committed sex offenses and assault on a ten (10) year old female victim who was known to the suspect. The victim was not injured.

ARRESTED: Ruben Huberto Martinez, 25 years of age Delmar, Maryland

Indecent Exposure (3 counts)
Second degree assault
Attempted third degree sex offense

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200800030632

On September 11, 2008 at approximately 6:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Sears Department Store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, the officers were advised by store employees that employees had observed the below listed suspect attempt to take perfume from the store without making payment. The property was recovered by the Store.

On September 11, 2008 at approximately 8:15 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect for a domestic type assault that occurred on September 5, 2008. On that date, Officers had met with a victim who advised that the suspect had injured her arms during a domestic argument.

ARRESTED: Andrew Dean Owens, 26 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES:
Second degree assault (2 counts)
Reckless endangerment
