Village Of Tony Tank Update

The latest word - from a resident, is that the money has been returned - with interest plus additional money - charges may still be filed?

I hope to hell charges are filed. I am so sick of people walking away from true responsibility thanks to good ole boys and girls "taking care of things."

Is it any wonder we have kids growing up without a sense of being accountable for their actions? They need look no further than their fearless leaders of the city to learn out to dodge, duck and weave.

Disgusting!

his house is also for sale in the Village. anyone up for egging it? haha

I agree with Anon 333PM. The person who was responsible for this fiasco now needs to pay dearly for all the stress and uncertainity he put all the residents through. Believe me, the "good ole boy and girl" theory holds true here in Salisbury and that is WRONG! They think they can get away with murder and keep doing their little crimes as they go knowing that the system will back them up!

I hope charges are filed also! They where just really lucky to even get there money back!!!

so it took less time to get Tony Tanks money back than it did for the county to get theirs back from Lewis thing.

Hmmm, I guess that is going to be swept under the rug.

How TRUE! Don't know who you are...wish I did.

Extra money? Sounds like a bribe to me.

Extra money must be for MJ Caldwell.

Those LAX players are being hammered into the ground for what they have done, as they should be. Lets not let this terrorist get away either. The mental duress these folks must have suffered during this fiasco must be recognized. File charges, send his ass to jail with the other thieves.

Whats the deal here anyway? The more you steal the less the consequences?

What is Iott's role in this?I understand this cost him a bundle.

This is BULL@%$^!!! Why aren't criminal charges being filed, the treasurer forged signatures to cash checks, that is a crime. Seems to me that MJCaldwell is more of an accessory to the crime than a lawyer. THIS SUCKS, if anyone of us had done something like this we would fry. Why can't the residents file charges?

According to the police, there has to be proof. So, RESIDENTS of VTTC, now you have proof but it takes more than one person to go forward. You're right - it does sound like there were bribes. WHERE DID THE MONEY come from other than an ANONYMOUS person?
Get a group together from the community who are trustworthy residents and TELL THE TRUTH!!!!!

Iott's role in this is simple. He is just as guilty in this crime as his CFO (the treasurer). You can't honestly tell me that he knew nothing about what was going on in his business. How can you be in business for over ten years and not have a clue to how things are run? His wife is an accountant for crying out loud.

He did know enough to fire people in his compnay who had nothing to do with the crime. Seems like he is covering tracks and his rear.

Why don't you people reveal who the treasurer was? In any other neighborhood in Salisbury, I believe names would be revealed? Why the big secret? Where has this jerk moved to - shouldn't be associated with any other neighborhood association anywhere either but how are people to know if name is never revealed?

I'm thinking that M.J. got himself a sweet deal along with the Treasure. He probably agreed to return all of the money plus extra as long as the Tony Tank Board of Directors would not press charges.

CROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKED.

Mike Waldman is/was the CFO of Iott Architecture & Engineering.

Of course it is. Don't you remember the 800 lb gorilla filed an insurance claim for it. Typical democrat mentality, let society pay for someone elses mistake.

Joe, thanks for keeping us up to date on this info.

Wasn't MJ Caldwell a candidate for the county council or county executive during the last election? He is what they call a RINO.

Not sure now, but at one time Mike Waldman was the President of the Temple Bhat Yan (sp ?) in Ocean City.
Also that he was a Benefactor for a large contribution (over $500.00) to the Temple. Makes you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

MJ Caldwell was the idiot who turned his back on his friend, BJ Corbin, who was running for County Executive and supported Ron Allessi. What an @sshole!! The idiot leaders of the Wicomico County Republican Club turned their backs on a better candidate to support Ron Allessi. Dumb @sses!!

It sounds as though MJ used the finesse approach to getting these issues resolved financially, probably with some assurances that there would be no criminal charges filed. From what little I've heard there was a paper trail, once uncovered, which could have been followed by a first grader.
MJ, be a man and do what's right, not what's the least confrontational. You've still got time make this right, not just the money. This guy did wrong. Whatever the "circumstances" were, either you're an honest person or you're not, and Waldman is not. He deceived his employer, who trusted him, and his neighbors, who trusted him. Whoever is potentially in a position to have been swindled by this guy should count their pennies. There is probably some missing.
We can only hope that MJ isn't on the same pay scale as Wilber is. Otherwise HE was the real winner here.

I guess since the community was apparently made whole with the repayment and the “other” money collected (a bribe) they will maintain their silence. And to think Mike, all you had to do was pay a little bribe to the right people. You get to go about your business, maybe move to another town and do it again, while some of your fellow employees got laid off. And the rest lose all of their benefits. Hope you can sleep well at night.

I wonder sometimes what on earth is wrong with the community we live in. A pretty large sum of money is embezzled from a local home owners association and no one says a thing. The penalties for this crime are clear. It is a felony and as such, you could get upwards of 10 years in prison (depending on where you live) and or fines. Except here in Salisbury.

Makes you wonder how many hands were actually involved in this. I would like to know if the entire Hobbs Road Development, LLC was involved in this scam. If Keith Iott and David Harkins were involved then they need to also suffer any consequences. It is almost funny how no one will ever know for sure. Funny how no one is interested.

The police…not interested.

The banks where this occurred…not interested

The HOA…not interested.

The local media…not interested.

So many people were hurt and all they have now is apathy. I guess when this happens again in this town - and it will - we shouldn’t be surprised if nothing is done about it.

We are just not interested.

Its really very sad that these guys are getting away with this. All because they are "someone" here in Salisbury. You're right - the police dont want to even hear anything about it - they said there has to be proof. What more proof than this is required? Except it takes more than one person to report it. I believe the Board should have taken it in their hands to report the theft. Now the former treasuer will just move away to another town/community and do it all over again - just because no one on the Board had BALLS enough!
