Hey Delaware:

Cry me a river!

Many probably wouldn't admit it in public but anyone that owns any restaurants, hotels or motels wouldn't want the slots?

Let's see, revenue for 2 and a half months or a year rounds gig with steady revenue flowing in? Which should I choose?

TiM:

That's a bullseye -- if Norman Conway had any moxie, he would move to amend to have the slots barn in Salisbury -- then the OC biggies wou suddenly decide that they really should be at Ocean Downs.

I dont understand either why OC would have a problem with slots.
It would bring more people to the area year round, yet they think it will take away from business. Its not the family oriented tourests who would be going to the slots any, it would be a whole new class of people, and they have to eat and sleep somewhere... I mean Berlin has how many hotels and restaurants?
OC should really re-think their thoughts on slots in Berlin and maybe hire a firm to start a marketing campaign now!

First, let me preface this by saying that I am neither for or against the slots bill....but you can...

Put me down as being sick of Ocean City and it always being what THEY want or don't want. #1, it's not a FAMILY resort. Try taking your family there and see what it cost. It's cheaper to go to Florida. #2, again it's not a family resort. Take a walk down the boardwalk and look at all of the T-shirts touting alcohol, pot and sex.

How are slots, which will bring in MORE people, hurt anyones business in OC??? I guess some people see it as a precursor to gentlemans clubs? HMMMM? Now that really would stir up the pot in that FAMILY Resort.

Just work there in July and August, the whole boardwalk is a gentlemen's club : )
