This got me from the article:
"The other (zoo director applicant offered the job) said the position was above his or her experience level."
So, out of 30 applicants, they offered the job to 2 of them, and one felt he or she wasn't qualified.
What the HELL does THAT say about the wisdom of those doing the selection process and the "We've had some very good candidates" according to the mayor!?!?
Can't get it ready in time for AZA certification? I thought Rapp said they were in great shape but for the quarantine building. I remember something about him bragging about them sailing through a USDA inspection or whatever.
To all those who blast Albero about hitting on the zoo and the administration, I'd say this DT article spoke volumes about the condition of the zoo and the level of folks it attracted to run it. And just as much about the people in the GOB and zoo commission who ran the selection.
Our poor little zoo, our poor city! That article made me see red and I gotta admit Albero got it right.
Heaven help us and get us some COMPETENCY for our city and our zoo!
