If You're Giving & Donating, They Love You!

Someone just commented on another Post, "Joe...Just wanted to say you are doing a great job. Some may not agree with your style, but what you are doing is important work. You are bringing to light things that others don't want to talk about and no matter how many times you are threatened you keep going. Hey everybody out there, like Joe or not, he is raising awareness in the community and making a difference. Having met Joe, he is a nice man and easy to talk to. Keep this site going. You have a lot more supporters than your anonymous comments would suggest!"

Well, thank you for starters. The photos above clearly show our quest towards not only donating to the Salisbury Zoo but also donating time when they needed it.

We have offered donations, (even with all the trouble we had with Jim Rapp) to feed the animals and even join under a Grandparent Membership and they sent all of our money back.

The sad part about this City is the fact that even though we may have our differences, it was all about the animals. It was not, (on my behalf anyway) about Jim Rapp & Joe Albero. It was about what was right for the animals.

This Post clearly shows we have done our part and we only wanted the very best for those animals. When they weren't getting the proper care and we said something about it, we became enemy #1 to Barrie Tilghman, Jim Rapp & Ron Alessi.

It's a shame because the animals are still suffering and I blame it 100% on Barrie Tilghman. I may be out of that Zoo for another year or so but what a shame it is that it continues to fall apart over there and there are fewer animals each week to view and experience.

The mere fact that they turned down a donation should have been good reason to pinch their budget a bit.

Hey Robinson, my money was NOT bipolar, Idiot. I love this new IP tracking program!

Let's assume for a moment that Joe IS bipolar. If that were the case, then he would be clinically classified as mentally ill.

So, what does it say of people who would argue with someone they believe to mentally ill, and even threaten him?

Just pondering.

This got me from the article:

"The other (zoo director applicant offered the job) said the position was above his or her experience level."

So, out of 30 applicants, they offered the job to 2 of them, and one felt he or she wasn't qualified.

What the HELL does THAT say about the wisdom of those doing the selection process and the "We've had some very good candidates" according to the mayor!?!?

Can't get it ready in time for AZA certification? I thought Rapp said they were in great shape but for the quarantine building. I remember something about him bragging about them sailing through a USDA inspection or whatever.

To all those who blast Albero about hitting on the zoo and the administration, I'd say this DT article spoke volumes about the condition of the zoo and the level of folks it attracted to run it. And just as much about the people in the GOB and zoo commission who ran the selection.

Our poor little zoo, our poor city! That article made me see red and I gotta admit Albero got it right.

Heaven help us and get us some COMPETENCY for our city and our zoo!
