Radio??? What's Wrong? Call Them. Request It People!

Hey Joe,
I am writing you to vent a little bit if I may. My issue(s) is with our local radio stations. I am not going to name any names, but they know who there are. We here at Top Notch Entertainment have done EVERYTHING we can to bring attention to us trying to raise funds by producing a song for Sarah. We went to the newspapers... they covered it and added a clip of the song. The Seaford star has covered it. Sheriff Mike Lewis stands behind this project 100% and has informed me that anyone who has in questions about the "realness" of this movement to contact him personally at the Sheriff's Department. And the biggest support of the movement has been YOU. You have the biggest machine in our local area as far as getting the word out. Your site is the most viewed one in our area PERIOD! You have given us time on your site, promoted the song on your site and even allowed us to perform it on your upcoming TV/internet show and what most people don't know is you have even contributed money from your OWN POCKET to help with the reproducing of the cd's when we couldn't. Man, GOD bless you for all you have done Joe. Not for me... not for my music family... but for Sarah. Your one of the reason's we will be at the big event for Sarah (1/31/2009-Sunday 9am till 2pm at Chef Fred's in Salisbury, sponsor by Hope Entertainment). Because you helped us and believe in us and we won't let you down Joe. I promise you that. Thank you and GOD bless you again.
With that said, I reached out to radio asking them to play the song and bring some type of awareness to it. That way at the event people will be familiar with the song. Nothing! I called them and asked was I doing something wrong to get the song played. They informed me that they have alot of music made for Sarah from people. I then wrote them and tried to show them the difference with us and "other people". Personally, I think it was beautiful of people to try to make some type of tribute to Sarah. They (the radio) think people are doing it for "exposure". This song isn't the type of song you make for that. Trust me. I even told them we don't have to do a interview for it...just play the song. The community will take it from there. It is a beautiful song. It really is.
So now here I am asking for your "power of communication" to help again (Man, I know your tired of us-haha). I am asking you to post this letter asking people to call the station and request the song. I think that's the only way they will do it. You would think they wouldn't have a problem with it, but it is what it is. I just want people to hear the song. I want the people that knew Sarah to know that you didn't have to "know" her in person to "know" her in spirit. The 3,000 people who came out to search for her felt like they knew her. Trust me. I felt like we knew her when we did the song. And to everyone, it's not about exposure. We don't benefit from this at all. And trust me, we will be back next Christmas doing the same thing. Like the song said; 'Within us she will forever live on..more than words...more than thoughts...more than just a song".
So people PLEASE call them. Bug them about playing the song.1 (302) 853-0144 (that's the request line- Wow. I guess I just told you the station huh). 1 (302) 856-6163 is the main number. Call them! Leave messages, request it. WE want to share it with everyone cause we all were affected by this. A lot of love was put into it. You can hear it. Trust me. Thanks again Joe, aka "Mr. Do It All"- Haha. GOD BLESS
Thomas-Ceo of Top Notch Ent.
Editors Note: You will see these Artists perform this song LIVE tomorrow on our 1 Hour Long "Joe Albero Show" Special at 9:00 AM. Also Note: The event at Chef Freds has not been set in stone, (date wise) and it's looking more like February now. You can listen to a portion of this song in the top right hand corner of this Blog.

Salisbury Fire Department To Conduct “After The Fire” Program This Weekend

Several Salisbury neighborhoods, including the Second Street area and Upland Drive area, have experienced the devastation of fire firsthand in the past few weeks.
The Salisbury Fire Department “After the Fire” Program was created to go back to the neighborhoods recently affected by the tragedy and destruction of fire to help educate and promote fire safety.
The Salisbury Fire Department will be going door to door in each neighborhood, Saturday, January 9th, from 1-3pm. Firefighters will be speaking to residents about fire safety; handing out literature; testing, and when needed, installing smoke detectors. It is the mission of the Salisbury Fire Department to attempt to prevent all fires before they occur, but when we are unable, we will stop, regroup, go to each surrounding home and try to get everyone on track with the basics.
There were not any working smoke detectors to alert the occupants of the Second Street fire, though they were able to escape; it is unknown at this time due to severity of damage if there were functioning smoke detectors in the Upland Drive structure fire. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is still conducting investigations into both incidents to determine the cause.
At the time of this press release, a third house fire had occurred in Salisbury, located on Richmond Avenue, and plans are being made for an “After the Fire” program in that neighborhood.
If you or someone you know is in need of a working smoke detector for their home, please contact the Salisbury Fire Department at 410-548-3120. We urge everyone to test their detectors in their home and practice their escape plan with their family.
GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES TAX CREDIT PROGRAM
Governor announced four project awards in Central Maryland under existing program set to expire
BALTIMORE, MD (January 8, 2010) – Governor Martin O’Malley today announced plans to create the Sustainable Communities Tax Credit program to propel smart and sustainable growth in historic areas and existing communities well-served by transit and infrastructure. The $50 million, three-year program will help create construction and rehabilitation jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, and spur economic development with each project. The new program will replace and improve upon the 14-year-old Heritage Structure Rehabilitation Tax Credit program, which is set to expire in June.
“The program represents the best of public investment and private enterprise as we continue to seek ways to fuel economic growth and create jobs,” said Governor O’Malley. “The success of the program in recent years cannot be understated. These projects will help revitalize historic communities, strengthen a green economy throughout our State, and create new construction and rehabilitation jobs in every corner of Maryland.”
The existing Heritage Tax Credit has invested more than $347 million in Maryland revitalization projects since 1996. Those projects have produced more than $1.5 billion in total direct rehabilitation expenditures by owners and developers. Coupled with wages, both construction and new jobs, and State and local revenues generated, this equates to more than $8.50 in economic output for every $1 invested by State government.
A report last year by the non-profit Abell Foundation concluded that commercial projects over the life of the program have employed roughly 15,120 people, earning $673.1 million in 2009 dollars. The state’s tax credit investment in labor-intensive building renovation has generated 1,850 more jobs than would have been created had the same funds been used for new construction, the foundation reported.
Governor O’Malley used today’s opportunity to announce $5 million in Maryland Heritage Structure Rehabilitation Tax Credits for four projects in Central Maryland. Receiving awards are:
Union Mill in Baltimore City: $2,920,000 tax credit for $20,000,000 project by Seawall Development Company to turn vacant manufacturing structure into residential and commercial space.
Proctor House in Bel Air: $100,000 tax credit for $500,000 project by Kelly Financial Group, LLC to turn vacant/storage space into commercial offices.
Two projects at the National Park Seminary development in Silver Spring: $800,000 tax credit for $4,000,000 project by the Alexander Company to turn vacant gymnasium into 12 residences. And $1,180,000 tax credit for $5,900,000 by the Alexander Company to turn vacant space and utility structures into 15 residential units.
The governor made his announcement before federal, state and local officials and community leaders at the site of the Union Mill (historically Druid Mill) development in Baltimore's Hampden community. Seawall Development is restoring what was the largest stone mill in Maryland into teacher apartments and office space utilizing L.E.E.D. "green"-certified standards.
"New legislation for 2010 seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of the tax credit program as an incentive for smart and sustainable growth,” said Maryland Secretary of Planning Richard E. Hall, who chairs the Governor’s Smart Growth Subcabinet. “By expanding program eligibility and coordinating it more closely with related state programs, the tax credit will benefit more communities across the state as a critical redevelopment and revitalization tool. One of Maryland’s most effective Smart, Green & Growing tools should not be allowed to sunset this year.”
The program is administered by the Maryland Department of Planning, and provides Maryland income tax credits equal to 20 percent of the qualified capital costs expended in the rehabilitation of a certified heritage structure. The tax credits are available for owner-occupied residential property as well as income-producing property. For more information about the program, visit Planning.Maryland.gov.

Arizona Sheriff Investigated By Federal Grand Jury
Ariz. Sheriff Investigated by Federal Grand Jury for aggressively cracking down on illegal immigration.
PHOENIX — Two officials said Thursday night they have been subpoenaed to answer questions next week before a federal grand jury about a high-profile Arizona sheriff who gained attention for aggressively cracking down on illegal immigration.
In statements read by a county spokesman, Maricopa County Manager David Smith and Deputy County Manager Sandi Wilson said they met with a federal prosecutor to discuss the case and will testify Wednesday.
Wilson said the general subject of the inquiry was abuses by Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office. Neither Wilson nor Smith offered specifics, said county spokesman Richard de Uriarte, who spoke with the two officials Thursday night.
Arpaio is widely known for tough jail policies and pushing the bounds on local immigration efforts. He has led a dozen crime and immigration sweeps, some in heavily Latino areas.
Critics allege that some of Arpaio's deputies racially profiled people during immigration sweeps. But Arpaio maintains that people pulled over in the sweeps were approached because deputies had probable cause to believe they had committed crimes.
A Possible Pence Presidential Bid?

Governor O'Malley Incorporates Crime Spike into 2010 Campaign
As Governor O'Malley puts his final touches on bankrupting once prosperous Maryland; he's suddenly on a state-wide tour, fighting crime, holding small business summits, pretending to be creating 60,000 new non-existent jobs, (Stimulus anyone?) visiting with deploying troops, and generally trying to morph himself into former Governor Ehrlich, with smoke and mirrors. Add to that is his assistance in crippling the all-important poultry industry, and supporting business tax rates that rival California. Now, suddenly, O'Malley has decided to use a recent crime wave, that is likely tied to the poor job environment, as an opportunity to impose "Stricter gun laws." O'Malley's stance on gun laws is well known.O'Malley recently announced that he is running for re-election and some claim he can't loose. Yet he is so confident, he is trying to basically call his would-be contender "a birther" after hearing that Robert Ehrlich may run against him this year, even though no official announcement has been made. Real class act there Martin.
What really gets me though is he's now jumping on the Sarah Foxwell case. The 11 year old girl who's body was found on the Eastern Shore on Christmas day, after she was abducted by a convicted child molester and rapist. Not that I don't want the governor of our state to impose better protective laws for children, then the ones he opposed before, but it all seems kind of well, disingenuous. After all, he is well known for opposing the death penalty. Not only that, he lead the charge to repeal the death penalty in the State of Maryland He even testified at the the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee.
Did we ever once hear from our esteemed governor, over the Christmas holiday, as we were tearing our hearts out hoping against hope that Sarah would be found alive and well? Did we hear from him once her remains were discovered, dumped in a field by all accounts, a convicted and released child rapist? No. Not one word, and now he says he pledges to Sarah "There is still work to be done."
Is that all you've got Governor? Seriously?
The people of Wicomico County demand justice for this innocent child. Not empty words. We're sick of empty rhetoric, Governor.
Let's review: O'Malley was left with a Billion dollar Rainy Day Fund. He blew through it. He pushed hard for the largest tax increase in Maryland history (2007). He got it. He courted and received nearly $4 billion in federal “stimulus” dollars (2008), and we STILL have a projected $2 billion budget deficit. Governor O'Malley's inability to manage a budget is astounding. His priorities are all screwed up and now we are supposed to believe that suddenly he's going to create 60,000 new jobs and we should re-elect him?
We don't believe anything you say anymore Governor. You've had your chance. You blew it. It's time to move on down the road to a different endeavor before you completely distroy this state.
As the Least Free State O'Malley is free to go.
