A ‘caravan’ of Central American asylum-seekers abandoned their plans to march to the southern border of the United States Wednesday, saying they will “wrap up” their journey in Mexico City after President Trump’s threat to deploy the US military to the region.
“A caravan of Central American migrants whose trek across Mexico infuriated President Donald Trump has decided not to travel to the US border, leaders said Tuesday,” writes the AFP.
“We will wrap up our work in Mexico City,” said the leader of People Without Borders. “We have support teams at the border if there are people who need assistance there, but they would have to travel on their own.”
The President issued a stark warning to Mexican authorities this week after the 1,500 strong ‘caravan’ made its way through Mexico towards the US border; saying he was prepared to deploy the US military to help avert a potential humanitarian crisis.

Trump needs to call Mexico out on this-- Mexico should give them asylum or turn them away at their southern border. Giving them undocumented passage to the US is a VERY provocative act. It should be dealt with in a 'substantial' way.

So our President avoided the illegal immigration of 1500 people simply by threatening to defend our borders with Military strength. Not a single shot was fired!
Dave T: Not so fast folks. I heard reports that they are just changing tactics! Many have been granted temporary stays by the Mexican government who is absolutely a co-conspirator in the matter, and they are now planning to use that time period to reach the U.S.
