Kentucky’s Pike County School Board voted to work with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office to train and arm teachers for school safety.
The vote followed the January 23, 2018, shooting at Kentucky’s Marshall County High School and the more recent February 14 attack on Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Kentucky.com reports that vote at the school board meeting was “unanimous” in favor of armed teachers. The vote was held after hearing input from “teachers, parents and administrators.”

What caliber and size handguns will they choose to arm them? How will they carry, concealed or open?
9:46 This is nothing new. The model on how to do this has been out there for over a decade. Some counties and school districts in some states have been arming teacher for OVER 15 years. Don't be like a democrat and think this some new concept in other words-Low Information. Be informed!

I have read concealed. I would assume weapon choice and caliber would be up to the individual.
There is no way teachers in HS are going to carry concealed on their person. Too easy for it to be taken away from them. Any weapon would need to be in a biometric safe in the desk.
I carry the pistol and holster that fits my body style and shooting preferences the best, as I'm sure these teachers do likewise. Chances are, most already have their own, they now are able to use them to protect their students and themselves. Others will need instruction and a learning curve, but to them I say, "Thank you for stepping up for this!"
These schools will now be able to avoid mass shooting scenarios, thank God!

If a shooting occurs would you actually ask the hero who is protecting you, Hey, what caliber is that gun? Do you have a permit?
LOL
Who friggin' cares? Just help us! Geez
What we learned for certain is this: The cops aren't going to help us. They will "stage" outside and wait for the shooting to end. Then, they will order the victims to come out with their hands up! Yikes. Are they idiots or were they in on it?

That is the very definition of "concealed carry". It is concealed on their body. There are many holsters out there available for purchase that does not allow the simple pulling of a gun out of it.
Having a biometric safe is probably another option they will consider, probably for the office area, and maybe even in a classroom. But if that is all that is utilized that would put them at a disadvantage in a situation where they are not in the same area as the safe when a shooter enters a school.
Maybe you are forgetting that these teachers would go through training and certification to carry concealed.
Most teachers are females and most of them are scared to death of the teenage thugs roaming the halls. If they have guns on their person, they will eventually end up getting taken from them. There is a reason guards in prison don't have weapons.
