At this point, I don't think anything will get the people mad enough to do anything... I don't believe Americans have a snapping point when it comes to being treated like dirt...
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
How long will Americans tolerate these TANTRUMS and continue to GIVE IN to them??
That is why they continue. Do you see that?
Mr Trump does-- that's why he put it right back in their faces.
And it will work if he/we can persist.

I disagree....I think the election results prove that the bulk of Americans are fed up...and as these far left and rights get more radical....somethings gonna give.
I read somewhere this morning someone said it isn't about the statues or the slavery. It's about power. These people tearing down statues don't even know the history behind them, slavery or the civil war. Just like Mao, the Taliban, Nazis and others, they are after power. Next, it will be book burning and at some point, they will go after people.
This is a TACTIC, employed by other evil groups throughout history. Maybe I should find what I read and share it with you since he said it much better than I.
So what is next? Confederate soldiers cemetery?
Will the Confederate soldiers buried in military cemetery's like Arlington be desecrated as well? I great great grand father is buried at one in New Bern NC. Will we have to now hire security guards to guard these cemetery's?
My question is, has this country gone totally insane?
These monuments celebrate the past, both of the events or people they display, and also the period when they were installed. We can agree or disagree about those aspects but we're foolish to allow ignorant partisans to tear them down just because they've ginned up some outrage over an inanimate object.
Better by far to use the monument/s as a teachable moment regardless of your view. History swings in a wide arc.
The liberals trying to erase the South's history will only create the conditions for the South to rise up gain. The world punished Germany unrelentingly after WWI and created the rise of Hitler and the German's nationalistic rise to world infamy in WWII. Allowing the South to retain their history and dignity will allow peace between the North and South for the rest of time, just like it has for the last 152 years. Political tampering with their history will create a volatile and unstable environment for our country. Charlotte is just the beginning. The whole thing was created by the issue of removing their monuments.
The South will fight to retain their history, and I don't blame them. Politicians are wrong, and leading us to more violence and possible civil war, by their support of a minority of Americans to remove the monuments to deny the South of their history.

It has already happened as well as to slaves graves and others.
In 1824, what would become Beaumont, TX was originally just a small community called Tevis Bluff, founded by Noah Tevis. By 1838, Beaumont was Chartered and the had been designated the county seat of Jefferson County.
There was a cemetery where the streets of Gladys and Oakland meet. This was the Jirou Cemetery. The cemetery held almost 50 graves, one of which belonged to founder, Noah Tevis. Jirou Cemetery was also the resting place of Jean Baptiste (Jonas) Chaison, an American Revolutionary War veteran who was also involved in early Texas history. In 1944 the DAR placed a marker on his grave.
In 1969, the cemetery was "obliterated to make way for the building of the Plymouth United Church of Christ", which still sits today at 1460 Gladys St.
The graves were not moved, just plowed over. In fact, Chaison's DAR marker was thrown into the street and fortunately, it was saved by DAR members.
Another example of the lack of respect for cemeteries is the lost communities of Grigsby's Bluff and Smith's Bluff, two German communities between Port Neches and Beaumont.
Two cemeteries used by Smith's Bluff now sit underneath the concrete of Unocal (Union Oil of California) and Sun Oil.
There were 2 cemeteries for the original Port Neches community, used by the German immigrants. One cemetery, deeded in perpetuity to the State of Texas, sat on the corner of Rachford and Dearing Sts. and today sits under a Shell Oil refinery. There were witnesses to the 1946 malicious bulldozing of that particular cemetery, however fortunately for Shell Oil, these witnesses are now deceased.
Perhaps one of the most infamous examples of cemetery desecration for profit is the building of Houston's Jefferson Davis Hospital in 1924. The hospital is built on a Confederate cemetery, although many other locals were buried in this cemetery as well.
In later years, the City of Houston built an impound lot over the cemetery, a Houston Fire Department maintenance building and parking lot are also over what was once the old cemetery.
If one never bothered to research, one would never know there are graves under all of it!
Since corporate America does not respect our cemeteries, is it any wonder the youth of today have no respect for the dead?

I couldn't agree with you more.
Here's a little known fact about the statue of Liberty. Even though it is hyped in history as a "gift" from the French, it was constructed and inscribed with the famous "Give us your poor, your hungry...",as if it was just a beacon of hope and an invitation to the rest of the world. But in reality, in 1875, the industrial revolution was in full swing, and the industrialists did not have the manpower to run their factories. The abolishment of slavery in 1865 could not provide the labor necessary for the factories, as former slaves were deemed unsuitable and untrainable for factory work. All the other grand hype the National Park Service puts out there on the Statue Of Liberty, is just some more government propaganda. It's real reason was to supply the billionaire capitalists with the manpower for their factories. We no longer have the need to import labor from the rest of the world, as we do not have enough factory jobs for the Americans already here. I propose that we tear down the Statue Of Liberty. The invitation is obsolete.
