OC Police charge couple with child abuse and neglect

Ocean City Police have charged a local woman and her boyfriend for critically injuring her 8-month old son earlier this year.

Charges were filed in late April against Amanda N. Unger, 22, and Robert Moya, 23, of Salisbury.

Police began an investigation in March, when Atlantic General Hospital staff reported possible child abuse to Ocean City Police when the child was admitted with a skull fracture. The baby also had bruising on his back and on the ribs area, which is consistent with rough grabbing, the report said.

Unger had said that while at her Ocean City apartment, her son had fallen out of bed, onto the floor and struck his head on the bassinet. She later told police she wasn’t home during the incident and Moya was watching her son.

Unger also told police that three or four days prior to visiting the hospital that her child had hit his head on a windowsill while crawling on the bed. The bed was pushed against a wall and the window.
