A Reminder...

Let this image serve as a reminder of what Memorial Day is really all about because it's not about bbqs, drinking parties, family gatherings, OC tourism and auspicious sale days at the local retailers -- it's about something much, much more.

That should be on a billboard on every block in Ocean City this weekend. That and "A##holes not welcome.

A stirring picture. Can you imagine visiting your spouse or child at his/her grave after they died in the line of fire? People really need to understand the real gravity of this holiday and quit thinking about it in terms of Ocean City.

10:30am: the purpose of my remark (10:27) was exactly for the reason you proposed. Bring the focus back to the true meaning of the day. I am a combat vet. Some of my fellow Marines died while serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. I honor them and all the other fallen that have the "last full measure of devotion " for this country...as undeserving and unappreciative as most of its citizens are for that gift.

Well said and I 100% agree about the a$$holes.
Thank you for your service.

Great shot! Reminds me of my visit to the Vietnam Memorial wall in DC. Saw names of 4 people that I knew and sobbed. What a waste.

Can you imagine what it must be like when you realize your loved one died for an immoral war?
This is a corrupt and illegitimate government.
Stop killing for it - and stop sending your loved ones into harms way for this stupid government.

Defend your own town or neighborhood.
Defend it from the gangs and drug dealers.
