On Thursday, two men had their weapons charges dropped in Baltimore City because the detective who arrested the men, Detective Marcus Ward was one of seven city police officers indicted last week on federal racketeering charges.
Dozens of other cases are being reviewed, and the Baltimroe City Public Defender's Office has set up a hotline to determine just how many of its cases have been impacted by the officers' indictment.
Criminal defense attorney Ivan Bates had a dozen clients arrested by at least one of these officers over the last two years.
All but three of those cases remain in the court system.
Earlier this week, one of his clients, Albert Brown, had his drug and weapons case dropped.

I thought the dropping/dismissing of cases involving those officers was a given.
