BREAKING: MAYOR DAY SAYS YOUR DAUGHTERS ARE SAFE

Burglary/Sexual Assault Arrest On March 2, 2017 at 11:30 p.m., Salisbury Police officers responded to the 500 block of Georgia Avenue in reference to reports of a woman screaming. Officers located an adult female victim who indicated that an intruder had forced entry into her residence and was currently inside the home with her 3 year old grandchild. Officers immediately secured the residence and safely evacuated the child prior to arresting the suspect.

Additional investigation determined that the suspect was attempting to steal property from the residence when the victims returned home, inadvertently interrupting the burglary. The suspect then sexually assaulted the adult victim and also assaulted the juvenile. The adult victim was able to escape the residence and summons help, at which time SPD was contacted.

Both victims were treated and released from PRMC for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was found in possession of property stolen from the home, as well as over 270 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest. The suspect later assaulted a Salisbury Police officer while in custody. The officer and suspect were uninjured during that incident.

While investigating the above incident, detectives became aware of an earlier burglary that appeared related.

Investigators determined that at 8:20 p.m. on March 3, 2017, the same offender had burglarized a residence in the 100 block of Onley Rd. During that incident, the victims returned home and found the suspect attempting to steal property from the residence. The suspect fled when confronted and no one was injured. Investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on these incidents is requested to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410)548-3165.

what about all the other assaults and rape reports that a law enforcement officer was said to have spoken of? is this really happening in our area. wasn't there a report of a woman being assaulted over by K-Mart a week or 2 ago? what happened to her?

Funny how the SPD put the Tweet out there and them almost immediately took it down.

Glad you screenshot it

Sunday Ebere Aroh has quite a bit of recent history on the Maryland Judiciary website.

Jakie, oh Jakie....

Anonymous said...

A lot of rapes at oak hill townhouses over the years.

Anonymous said...

Going to take one or two breaking into the wrong house and meeting their maker for anything to change. Sure enough can't rely on the city to change anything.

Mug shot?

They need to quit pouring money into an under utilized fire department and put it into making a real police department. My brother in law use to work for them and told me most nights they only had 4 officers working to cover all of Salisbury, that is beyond sad or even a crying shame. It's no wonder criminals run rampant, not hard to know where 4 cops are in a town that size. A simple traffic stop and half to three quarters of the force is there for it at night!

Anonymous said...

WAIT A MINUTE!!! Did I read that report correctly? He raped the adult and the minor child...a 3 year old. I pray that is not correct! But if it is correct he should be killed.

Anonymous said...

just moved to oak hill town homes think ill keep my gun loaded cant wate on police to protect me

Anonymous said...

I DEMAND this piece of dirt be held until he is put away for a very long time. Assaulting a 3 year old. The child will NEVER recover.

Anonymous said...

Joe please keep this up top till sunday.

Anonymous said...

I guess they really CAN predict crime. The release says.....

"
Investigators determined that at 8:20 p.m. on March 3, 2017, the same offender had burglarized a residence in the 100 block of Onley Rd. "

Today is March 3rd and it's not 8:20pm yet.

Anonymous said...

You have the suspect committing a burglary 10 minutes in the future. Better look at your article again.

Anonymous said...

So, really what we have is just a burglary because the sexual assault really did't result in a rape, so we'll just keep it as a simple assault, maybe. nRight, Jake?

Rampant B&E with folks at home and the SPD Poo poo's this as a simple what?

I hope Jake dies a violent and slow death from one of his own protected thugs during a home invasion, and I want to be on the jury.

Anonymous said...

That area is a real ghetto now. I feel for the people that own the condo/townhomes on the water. I heard stories of hookers with johns in their parking lot and finding condoms left there.

Anonymous said...

He was just looking to borrow some ziplock baggies so he could bust that weed down into smaller amounts to sell.

Anonymous said...

jOE, Thx for keeping the public informed!!!!

Anonymous said...

what a shame, he was just accepted into M I T. now he will never achieve his goal of being ceo of thugware inc

Anonymous said...

If he has a recent history of criminal activity, why was he out on the street and not in jail? falls again to the judicial system, judges and court commissioners

wait till fake Jake Day builds Section 8 by the library in the old parking lots

Jake says crime is down in Salisbury, I am throwing the bullshi& flag on him.

He was born and raised here in ocean city. I grew up with him.

Lock this thug up for life.

Anonymous said...

He graduated from Stephen Decatur Highschool. He was born and raised here in ocean city.

Anonymous said...

A 7.62 x 39 round to the back of his skull would be greatly appreciated.

Anonymous said...

He's not a bad kid

Anonymous said...

You people are ridiculous, you have no idea what actually happened. All you have is general statements that can range from a petty crime, such as pushing the lady, to something much more severe.

Anonymous said...

Yes 5:29..that is exactly what they are doing.

Anonymous said...

Not a bad kid? Are you high?!

Anonymous said...

Interesting comment. You never should have expected the police to protect you. You are responsible for maintaining your own safety....especially in your own home.

Anonymous said...

Demand? Did some one make you king while I went to the bathroom?

Anonymous said...

Is that accurate Joe? Are they putting section 8 housing downtown?

Anonymous said...

Thanks....that's really helpful. NOT

Anonymous said...

Where is the part that he was released on $500 unsecured bond?

Anonymous said...

He might not have been a bad kid but he sure as hell is a horrible ADULT if he did what he is accused of.

Anonymous said...

I just showed this to my son who went to Decatur with him. He was shocked to see this as he said "Sunny" was a really nice guy.

Anonymous said...

Just did a search on him on MD judiciary and he has 25 court cases in last 3 years since he turned 18 i assume. All closed. Exactly an example of our government not protecting us. Not a nice guy, exactly the definition of not a nice guy. More like POS. Doubt it just started as soon as he turned 18. Bet his juvinille record was extensive.

Anonymous said...

I bet he did it

I see that no facts have even been confirmed besides petty burglary and weed at the scene. I'm not sure how one goes from a cry of assault, to sexual assault, to attempted rape, but something is clearly not adding up. It's as if some of you just see "another ghetto black thug", so in your minds he's already guilty on all charges that they try to compound on him. And to those looking at the judiciary cases, it seems there are two different people that show up in the system under "Sunday Aroh". But just the same way they compounded several charges for this one case, it could have been done for another also requiring a court decision for each count. I'm just saying that yes we could all practice caution for our general safety in this world, but we should at least wait until we know the full story and all the evidence is provided beyond a shadow of a doubt (like in any other instance) before crucifying him.

@4:57 Sorry if we jump to conclusions based on skin color but it's not racism , It's growing up and forced into a school system that allows the abuse of white students by blacks and living with a media that promotes racism against whites by all. Most white kids have been the victims of assault and intimidation with that and the crime statistics showing Black males commit more crime than any other group in the country we are usually correct when we jump to conclusions. This is just the way things are like it or hate it, at least for those of us that aren't rich enough to remove ourselves from it.

Anonymous said...

Maybe we can get a billboard with him and jakes picture saying welcome to da bury make sure your concealed firearm is loaded and safety off thanks to my and my hom boys.

Anonymous said...

Obviously this crime is disturbing but so is the deletion of the tweet about it. Salisbury Police need federal oversight. They're corrupt.

Anonymous said...

Ever notice the crime got much worse after the FBI office moved out of the Gallery building and off the Eastern Shore? Its now only housed in Baltimore. There might be a direct correlation between the two.

Anonymous said...

This dirtbag should be raped by a non=human entity/apparatus to feel the horror and hung to die. The end. All these criminals will stop if this would be their fate!

Anonymous said...

Interesting how the Salisbury Police Department got caught deleting a twee about a rape. They must have thought they could get away with it.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry, but those are the biggest lips I've ever seen!

Anonymous said...

I went to school with him at Salisbury...he's a scumbag

Anonymous said...

I personally know him. He is not a good person these charges are not surprising really.

Press Release - Maryland State Firemen's Association

MSFA Remarks over Salisbury VFD Lock Out

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Maryland State Firemen’s Association (the MSFA) was formed in 1893, and its members include over 300 volunteer fire, rescue, and EMS companies throughout the state. "The mission of the Maryland State Firemen's Association is to serve, promote, advocate, and represent the interests of the Volunteer Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services of Maryland."

Adhering to our mission statement, we the MSFA, intend to help any volunteer fire company and protect what is rightfully theirs as provided to them through the trust of our fellow citizens. Allowing a paid or career fire department to simply take what is not rightfully theirs is unacceptable and irresponsible.

On February 22, 2017, approximately 10 volunteer fire fighters from Salisbury Fire Department Inc., Company No. 1 (Salisbury Station 1) voted to end their affiliation with the City of Salisbury as of July 1, 2017, and to move out of city owned facilities into a new facility outside of the Salisbury city limits. There are three volunteer fire companies within the City of Salisbury. Each of those fire companies is a separate corporation and each of the volunteer fire companies receives financial assistance from Wicomico County and the State of Maryland, including funds provided by the Maryland Military Department to volunteer fire companies. Upon receiving notice that the volunteers would be leaving in July, the City of Salisbury immediately evicted the volunteers from the Station.

The President of the MSFA, Michael A. Davis, has reached out to the Maryland Military Department, Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver, and the City of Salisbury. Maryland Military Department has been responsive and is researching the situation. Mr. Culver has expressed sincere interest to assist in this matter. Two calls to the City of Salisbury have not been returned despite expressing the urgency of this matter.

President Davis states “The Maryland State Firemen's Association does not condone the actions of the City of Salisbury locking out the volunteers and seizing the property of Salisbury Station 1. We kindly ask the City of Salisbury to allow the volunteers to have what is rightfully theirs, specifically equipment which was paid for by Salisbury Station 1 with county and state funding. We feel it is very unfortunate that the volunteer department wants to separate from the combination system but it is their right to do as they see fit to provide much needed emergency services to their citizens.”

60.5 % of fire and emergency services are provided by volunteers in the State of Maryland (data provided by usfa.fema.gov). Volunteer firefighters save counties an average of more than $60 Million annually. In this day and time, with declining volunteerism, an increase in training requirements, and average homes with 2 working parents, actions like these are detrimental to serving and protecting our neighbors. Volunteer Firefighter's, EMT's, and Rescue workers dedicate their lives to protecting their fellow man, woman, and child no matter the situation, economic status, or political interest.

The MSFA fully intends to use all available local, state, and nationwide resources available to help the Salisbury Station 1 with this matter, just as we would with any of our volunteer fire companies.

For additional information please contact: Michael Davis, MSFA President, mdavis@msfa.org
