AG Sessions asks remaining 46 US attorneys to resign

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked the remaining 46 U.S. attorneys to resign, the Justice Department announced Friday, describing the move as part of an effort to ensure a "uniform transition."

The department said some U.S. attorneys, as in prior transitions, already had left the department. Now, "the Attorney General has now asked the remaining 46 presidentially appointed U.S. Attorneys to tender their resignations," a spokeswoman said.

“Until the new U.S. Attorneys are confirmed, the dedicated career prosecutors in our U.S. Attorney’s Offices will continue the great work of the Department in investigating, prosecuting, and deterring the most violent offenders,” the statement added.

Since I don't like Sessions stand on medical marijuana, I wish HE would resign.

Unknown that's being a penny wise and a pound foolish. Sessions relies on our rule of law. Sorry if that's not to your liking but you're in the minority. Most people like the order laws provide. I don't like the unconstitutional law that I have to buy government mandated healthcare insurance or paying taxes because an unratified amendment but it is what it is. 🤗

It's about time some swamp draining started. It needs to happen everywhere in the federal government. 28% of those peeps said they were AWAL should Trump win so what happened? Why are they still there? WTH? Like celebrities all talk no validity. Probably because no one cared if they quit and they were tilting at proverbial windmills looking asisinine in the process. How much of the Agency will be gone this time next week? Would love to see everyone hired during the last 30 years scraped. Damaged goods. Can dream can't I? 😴😴😴😴

This is typical when any administration changes. But liberals will make a big deal out of it.

EVERYONE in the swamp needs to go. If that means the government stops completely, so be it!

That will spur Congress on to approve Trump's Cabinet so we can get this country moving again... IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!!!!

Here here, Steve. You're absolutely right. If the government needs to stop for a spell so we can readjust for the missing elements, so be it! The truth is, our government functioned just fine pre-FDR era which was when all these special interest groups and gobbly goop was formed. Time to dial back our government and start living within the constitution again. Screw anything that came forth after 1915. It's all been down hill since then because of it.

I don't know what connection, if any, to the penny pound thing you are referring but regardless, 60% of Americans and climbing support medical marijuana. Hardly a minority.

And if the healthcare law were unconstitutional it would have been struck down, no matter if you don't like it.

And people not liking laws is what gets them changed and/or repealed, and that is what we are seeing now.

Not all laws are for an orderly society. Many are not. They probably would be chaos without any laws, as we can see every time the laws and society breaks down.

RETURNING to the legalization of marijuana, and even other drugs, will not cause the destruction of our society or anything else as some hold. The entire so called drug war was and is based on lies and control. Lies from our highest office. And control over those whom the gov't feared.

It's not hard to understand the people's fear over much of the things they really don't understand. They have been lied to, brainwashed and programmed to think and behave in a certain manner their entire lives. Many are awaking to that and others have yet to do so. But in time I have faith they too will come to see the truth.

That is a nice thought and may even be a reasonable expectation, for reasonable people. But you are underestimating our gov't. They are not always reasonable people to our way of thinking, nor is the gov't our friend. Its' only concern in money and power. How to keep it and how to get more of it.

They don't care about us other than we allowing them to remain in power. It will not relinquish anything willingly. Only by force, the threat of force and the danger of them losing power will they relent and do what the people wish.

They may say and do whatever it is to appease the people at the time, but don't be fooled into thinking they will do the right thing. Unless the right thing furthers their agenda.

There are currently 28 states that have legalized medical marijuana, although not all of them have implemented their laws. For instance the 2016 class of medical states (Arkansas, North Dakota, and Florida) have approved medical marijuana, but those initiatives have not taken effect yet. There are many states that do not permit medical marijuana home cultivation and/or don’t have any dispensaries open. Maryland is on state that has legalized medical marijuana but has no operational dispensaries yet.
