WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The original Gerber baby, Ann Turner Cook, celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday.
In 1928, Cook was 4 months old and Gerber held a contest to find a face to represent a baby food advertising campaign, according to Gerber Life’s website. Cook’s neighbor, Dorothy Hope Smith, was an artist and she entered a charcoaled sketch of Cook as a baby. Gerber officials loved the sketch so much that they selected it as the winner and trademarked the image in 1931.

"...said David Yates, vice president of Gerber’s North America operations. “It is the epitome of a happy, healthy baby..."
Considering she is 90 and still healthy I guess he was absolutely correct. Her mom should have asked for Gerber Stock and a penny per jar sold.
more like 88. she wont be 90 until 2018.
11:00 Maybe you should do some research before commenting. From wikepedia, Ann Turner Cook (born November 20, 1926). I can understand your confusion though because the story as written is a bit misleading. I believe what they mean (from reading other sources) is that the drawing of her was done when she was 4 months old. Not that she was that age when the contest was held. Since she was born in November she could have been 89 not 88 if the contest had been held in early 1928. Always check multiple sources and never make assumptions without facts.
This is why the MSM is not respected anymore.
A beautiful sketch, and a beautiful lady at 90!
