The Obama legacy: An assault on the Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights is a barricade protecting Americans from their government. Part of President Obama's legacy will be that he inflicted damage on that barricade, eroding freedom of speech, free exercise of religion, the right to bear arms and the right to due process.

Through his political arguments, executive actions and political leadership, Obama has taken some of the holes punched by previous presidents and made them broader or more permanent.

This means that after Obama leaves office, people will be more easily silenced, killed or disarmed by their own government. Obama is leaving behind a public less protected from state power.

You may rest assured that each and every signer of The Declaration of Independence and of The Constitution would have called him out in no uncertain terms!

This Friday, September 16 is Constitution Day, commemorating the day in 1787 when this pivotal document in human history was adopted.

Our petty tyrant and his ilk will do their best to ignore the day because its principles thwart their schemes for absolute control.

The First Ten Amendments, generally known as The Bill of Rights, is what protects our freedoms, on paper. And what elevates us above all the other enslaved peoples across past centuries and in our times.

A day as important as July 4th. Celebrate the day and enlighten your family and friends!
