Trump finds support in former Democratic stronghold in Maryland

Twenty years ago, when thousands of people still drove past his Edgemere gas station every day on their way to make steel and cars, Carl Hobson put up signs for Democrats.

Now the 77-year-old displays one of the largest "Trump" signs in this blue-collar community. The "Make America Great Again" slogan is impossible to miss under the price for diesel.

Hobson has owned the station since 1964, when Bethlehem Steel and General Motors weren't just large employers important to the local economy — they were fundamental to the region's culture.

"People don't want a third term of Obama," Hobson said. Maryland is a blue state, he said, but "the people in this area are definitely not Hillary people."

I agree been a registered Democrat since the age of 18 50 years ago but definitely voting for Obama, probably will be Republican the rest of my life. Obama has been a big disappointment, and Hillary would be worse.

I'm with you, 9:15. I've been registered as a Democrat for at least that long, but the party has been getting more and more like a nightmare over the past ten years. It's time for a turning point.

Trump can think on his feet, says what he feels, doesn't have a storage locker full of dead "friends" and enemies, and isn't a pathological liar like the Clinton person.

Fear not, people. The democrats are already hard at work, diligently preparing the voting machines to ensure victories for their masters in all states, including Maryland. Well, those who aren't killing off the Clinton's enemies are.

Next time anybody sees Ireton and/or Matthias, ask them what can be done to make sure Republicans don't steal Maryland elections in the future. That ought to crack them up.
