We’ve been seeing a lot of this lately, and quite frankly, it’s alarming. Why on Earth are horses eating plastic bags? It’s simple: people are not properly storing their food.
Like dogs, horses are opportunists and will take advantage of a free meal. Their digestive systems are not made to digest processed foods, meats and certainly not plastic bags. While it may be humorous to watch as a horse tears open a bag to get at what’s inside, that food and associated packaging can cause severe diarrhea and intestinal blockage as the horse tries to digest it. Both of these conditions can cause severe pain or even death.
So what can be done to prevent that from happening? We need to take food storage seriously and be vigilant it. Here are some helpful tips:
*Whenever possible, leave food in your vehicle.
*If you must take food out onto the beach, make sure it is in a zippered bag or other container that the horses can’t rip open or easily toss around to dump food out.
*If you bring a cooler, secure it closed with a nylon strap.
*If you are camping, store your food in your vehicle and only bring it out when you are about to use it.
*Do not store your cooler under a picnic table. Horses have learned to drag out coolers and open them.
*Never leave food unattended at your campsite or on your beach blanket.

When a dumpster is overflowing with trash between scheduled pickups, it's an indication that there should be more pickups or additional dumpsters.
10:14 Hit the nail on the head!
Just keep people off the beaches and other areas that are the horse's turf.
LLLOOOOOLLLLLLL
Maybe we need to PAY MORE when we visit our National Parks?
Maybe the employees need to GET TO WORK!
How about we go back to the old saying leave only footprints! That means take your trash with you!
3:07 What about the people that are camping there? Should they load a trash can to the top of their vehicle to use while they are paying to camp?
Obviously there is no one in charge to make these decisions for more trash cans, pickups, etc but sure someone is getting paid big taxpayer money.
2:17 Maybe the campers and folks visiting the parks need to follow the rules and police that area they occupy to be clean and well taken care of. You sound like a Hillery supporter always blaming someone else for your screw ups.
I love the park but when I was leaving I did cut my foot right good from debris covered in the sand it's simple u bring it take it with you
Sadly people don't care anymore
