LOCKHART, Texas --Texas officials have confirmed that 16 people are dead after a hot air balloon caught fire and crashed in Central Texas.

Caldwell County Sheriff Daniel Law confirmed that the office had received a 911 call Saturday morning about a possible vehicle accident, and responded to the scene.
