Jeffrey Lamore Jones Attempted Murder Conviction

On July 13, 2016, Jeffrey Lamore Jones, Sr, age 62, of Salisbury, Maryland, was convicted by a Wicomico County jury of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Use of a Firearm in a Crime of Violence, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Marijuana, and 6 other charges.

On November 15, 2015, members of the Salisbury City Police Department responded to a call for “shots fired” in the 400 block of Patterson Avenue. Upon arrival officers found a female who had been shot in the shoulder area. Jones fled the scene with the firearm, cocaine, marijuana and nearly $9,000. Jones was apprehended less than a block away within minutes of officers responding to the call. The subsequent investigation revealed that Jones shot his girlfriend just prior to his apprehension.

Deputy State’s Attorney Ella Disharoon commended the members of the Salisbury City Police Department and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation. Mrs. Disharoon also thanked Jared Monteiro and Andrew Illuminati, Assistant State’s Attorneys, who prosecuted this case.
