Beaverdam Creek Tidal Dam and Spillway Project to Begin Monday, July 18th
As part of Salisbury Public Works’ ongoing effort to keep the public informed of improvements within the City of Salisbury, please be advised that a private contractor will be working within the Salisbury Municipal Park. The Beaverdam Creek Tidal Dam and Spillway Reconstruction project includes construction of a new dam and repairs to the existing historic dam near the Bandstand. The construction zone will be in the City Park, in the area of the Snow Hill Road pedestrian bridge and the historic dam. The flow of pedestrian traffic will be altered on a portion of the Urban Greenway along the south bank of Beaverdam Creek, between the Snow Hill Road Bridge and the City Park Bandstand. Every effort will be made to accommodate pedestrian traffic around the work area. Safety fence will be installed and remain around the perimeter of the construction site for the entire duration of construction activity.
The work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., beginning Monday, July 18, 2016 and will be completed by January 2017, barring any unforeseen problems. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

I see so many more things that need to be done other than this. Glad they are doing it, I guess, but where is the priority list of when things get done in this town. I would like to see it.
Was this put out for bid? No one in Salisbury could have done this work? We have to get a company from Sparrow's Point to come to Salisbury to do this? So many questions, anyone have answers?

9:37 PM, I'm looking for straight, honest answers, not the same old rhetoric I'll hear by calling anyone in the city, same reason I do not attend city council meetings. You cannot ask questions without getting a BS answer.
Yes, it was put out to bid. One of the criteria for accepting the bid was that the company have bridge building experience. No local company evidently does.
