Bob Evans Restaurant
8957 Ocean Gateway / Route 50
Easton, Talbot County, Maryland
TALBOT COUNTY, MD (5/14/16) -- A team of investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Fire Investigation Division are currently working to determine the origin and cause for a 2-alarm fire at the Bob Evans restaurant located at 8957 Ocean Gateway in Easton.
Smoke was observed by employees at neighboring businesses who quickly notified the Talbot County Emergency Operations Center.  Officers from the Easton Police Department arrived and confirmed fire was visible inside the structure.  Nearly 70 firefighters responded from Easton, St. Michaels, Oxford, Trappe, Preston, Cambridge, Cordova, and Queen Anne's Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Departments and controlled the blaze within 2 1/2 hours.  No injuries were reported during the incident.
Due to complete roof collapse, investigators are utilizing heavy equipment operators to remove large items from the debris to allow for safe access inside the remains of the building.  Current loss damage estimate to the structure and contents is 3.5 million dollars.
Anyone having information regarding his incident is asked to contact the Upper Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 443-271-7160.

Did someone walk out without turning off an oven or the griddle? All I see is 20-30 more jobs wiped out. Just what the shore needs, more unemployed people.
