TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — The Board of Public Works voted Wednesday to withhold some of Baltimore City and Baltimore County school construction funds unless they plan to install portable air conditioners by the start of the next school year.
Pat Warren has more on this latest response to a continuing problem.
Heading into the summer months has some city and county parents wondering if their children will again be sweltering in classrooms without air conditioning. They argue it shouldn’t continue to happen.
Baltimore City and Baltimore County are the only jurisdictions in the state with large numbers of schools that have no air conditioning.

So this is what its like to have someone in charge. Guess who is getting re-elected?
If Hogan gets reelected it will be because he is not really a conservative or a liberal. He is a pragmatist. Putting air conditioning into Wicomico Schools is something many conservatives here on this site have whined about being unnecessary forever. I think all our schools have air now except for one and it is in the process of being rebuilt now.
I am shocked to read that Baltimore and Baltimore County are the areas with the least air as I believe, many of these schools are primarily black. Apparently somebody, conservative or liberal, has not cared even longer than here in our county.
How about installing ceiling fans and putting window fans in, to draw cooling air through the rooms? That's a lot cheaper up front and in the long run.

1055 Yep. go ahead and race it up. Wouldn't want any of these comments to have no race noted somewhere in their yammers. You people are race obsessed. You can't take about anything with out mentioning the black this, the white that. Damn. You're a thick bunch. One trick ponies stuck on the same groove on the record.
He needs to withhold funds in Wicomico county until our schools are safe.
Hogan needs to hold funds from Wicomico. Who thinks it is a good idea to spend millions and millions on two new high schools a quarter mile from each other?
