Woman Settles Dunkin’ Donuts Hot Coffee Lawsuit For $522K

As long as chains and restaurants sell hot beverages sold, we’ll probably continue to hear about lawsuits tied to accidents with hot coffee, or hot cider, or any hot liquid. To wit: in a recent hot coffee lawsuit development, a woman who claimed she fell in the parking lot of a New Jersey Dunkin’ Donuts, spilling hot coffee on her face and neck, has settled with the chain for $522,000.

This is a legitimate case. The issue wasn't the coffee was too hot but the negligence of the property owner to properly maintain the parking lot/curb, which caused her to trip and fall. That's what caused her injuries.

One night a guy was walking across a parking lot en route to a local carry out/dine in establishment. He must have weighed 400 and change. He failed to negotiate the app 6" high sidewalk and tripped, falling directly on his face.At first myself and 2 others with me approached him with intent to help him up,but we were laughing too hard AT him to proceed.Aside from losing a couple teeth he was fine, but he was so po'd at us laughing at him that he sued the restaurant.Believe it or not he won a pretty big settlement.
