Without Government, Who Would Force A Men's Barbershop To Cut Women's Hair?

A barbershop that is set up specifically to serve men, must now pay $750 dollars after a Pennsylvania state investigation into "discriminatory" practices on the part of the barbershop owners.

The owner, John Interval, was fined $750 after he declined to cut a woman's hair. According to Interval:

"I didn’t really consider it so much a discrimination thing as – it’s a barbershop... for guys. You know, I’m not opposed to doing women’s hair...just not in this shop. I don’t even have [the equipment] to do women’s hair." Interval said.

My barber has quite a few women customers, but most of them have really short hair.He has absolutely no problem with it,and their money is just as good as ours.

He should have just cut her hair. A really good man's hair cut and neck shave. Bet she wouldn't return. Nothing says he has to do a good job cutting a woman's hair.

Yep, the barbershop should have just given her a man's haircut. That's what they sell, and they should have sold her one. If she didn't like it, she could do what I do...don't go back to that barber. If she wanted a perm, or styling, they could tell her that is not what they sell. It doesn't matter who sits in a barber's chair. The barber should ask them how short they want it, and if they want a shave.

Good points raised here folks. Agreed. But this situation seems like a stretch to call it "discrimination." Don't we all have something more important to worry about? This seems awfully minor compared to the many more serious matters happening in the world today.

Easy solution....go to another place to get your hair cut!

The "easy solution" wouldn't allow her to claim "discrimination" and collect a reward. She's trouble wherever she goes, business, workplace, public...she's is not trustworthy. Just looking to be someone's "victim." And I don't even KNOW her. Don't want to!

I would have told her we cut hair not style it do you want a crew or butch cut that is all we offer! if you want something else you are in the wrong shop! This is nothing more than more liberal PC BS, and it keeps getting higher and deeper at the same time!

Women should never be out and around in barber shops. What kind of example are we setting when these girls are going into barber shops without a male escort.

"Sure, I'll cut it, but it's going to take a few minutes to check Wikipedia first. Should I look under 'styling' or 'grooming'?"

Problem solved!
