NRP officers seized more than 30 firearms and ammunition Saturday from the Salisbury home of a man convicted of a felony.
John George Dimarhos, 36, was charged with seven felony and seven misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. He was released Sunday on bond from the Wicomico County Detention Center.
An NRP officer checking hunters on Sept. 1, the opening day of dove season, encountered Dimarhos. A records check showed that on April 20, 2005, Dimarhos pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in Cuyahoga (Ohio) County Court. He was sentenced to a year’s probation.
State and federal laws prohibit felons from owning firearms and ammunition unless they have gotten their record expunged or civil rights restored. Licensed dealers are barred from selling guns to felons.

Aggravated Assault: n. the crime of physically attacking another person which results in serious bodily harm and/or is made with a deadly or dangerous weapon such as a gun, knife, sword, ax or blunt instrument. Aggravated assault is usually a felony punishable by a term in state prison.
is that the kind of person you want running around with firearms?
I'm a life member of the NRA and quite frankly am thankful they took his guns. You commit that kind of crime, you forfeit your rights to own a firearm.
Simple.
Your a fake conservative.
Depends on which states statute you read from.
Tbkse same characteristics you read off about who you don't want a gun,js the same characteristics that are instilled into soldiers and are preformed by them. Ultimately becoming a profession in either a full career in the military or as a cop here in the states.
People make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. I'd agree with you if it was a hand gun or full autos. But seriously. A shot gun? Can't a man hunt for food for himself and his family? He is off in the fields! Not walking the streets and drinking in bars like some legal criminals I know!
I do not think anyone is saying he was not wrong. Self imposed aggravation and assuming. Calm down.
So when he was 26 he got into to fight that may have involved a firearm but also could have been a 2x4 or no "weapon" at all. He should be banned from owning a hammer too. Right? What about 20 years later if he has had no negative contact with law enforcement? 30 years later? Why are NRP officers running every hunter they encounter? Why are they encountering these hunters in the first place? Was it private land or public hunting land?
"Shall not be infringed" doesn't say anything about a felony. Hate to be capt. obvious.

it's no wonder a lot of people want to take guns away from honest folk when the likes of you are breathing oxygen.
What do you think "Well regulated" means?
Logic has obviously been bred out of most of you fools.
let's let any felon have whatever guns they want. Makes complete sense to me now. Dang, how could i be so wrong?
I suppose those NRP officers should have known about the guys past and just given him a warning?
Jesus, some of you neanderthals are going to ruin it for the rest of us.
NRP are doing to the same thing to hunters as they do boaters. There is no need for probable cause for them to stop, interrogate, run licenses and search you. The state has figured out one more way of extracting revenue from people other than motorists.

You are correct. And for 843 and 116 the same ones who wrote the second amendment were felons. Well regulated means discipline, a chain of command, efficient, structured etc.
If they wanted to exclude anyone from a militia or anything else they would have listed them. What gives any man the right to tell another man what he can own, what he can do or don't do etc.?
And banning violent felons from owning firearms wasn't even law until 1934. Then the ban was expanded in 1968 to include all felons.
It hasn't stopped ANYONE from owning anything, just made it illegal. A stepping stone to the disarmament of the people.
Just another fear tactic to control the sheep and their egos.
We have so many laws on the books that people commit 3 felonies a day and don't even realize it. Those are not my words. Google it.
Like your buddy Hitler said, to take over a country first disarm the people. You and others are helping them do that. Good job.
Well regulated means..... The government approves you because your either their supporter ,work or a family of a worker, or no threat against them when they finally push the people over the edge and they revolt!
The only agency that can come on your land and in your house with no warrant and search! Run your I.d. with out probable cause while your on your own land.
