BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Governor Larry Hogan fielded questions Tuesday afternoon after he publicly announced his plans to cut hundreds of fees across state government.
The Baltimore Sun reports that in the news conference he was asked about his thoughts on the Martin O’Malley furniture scandal.
Hogan called the scandal an “ongoing ethics investigation,” and he said the account O’Malley gave to the Washington Post was “absolutely blatantly false.”
Although the controversy garnered national attention in mid-August when the State Ethics Commission got publicly involved, Hogan believes presidential candidate Martin O’Malley’s shady business practices started back when he and his wife first moved into the governor’s mansion.

Callin' it like it is!
Thanks Governor Hogan!
All state items that are no longer in use are supposed to be posted on Govdeals.com to be auctioned off to the general public. State facilities are not allowed to just give away or sell items to anyone.
This is a system put in place to keep people honest. If the state no longer needs an item it goes up for everyone in the public to have a chance to purchase it.
Again, given the provenance of these items, they would have fetched some real money, not a penny on the dollar that the ex-gov paid. Lots of bids would have come from people who wanted some high quality furniture that was a part of Maryland's history and that would give them bragging rights as.coming from the governor's mansion.
O'Money and his wife (a MD judge) should be disbarred ASAP.
Great so omally drills me with tax and fee increases then takes a great deal off the backs of tax paying citizens. This a hole needs to go away already and stop trying to be the president.
Typical liberal BS. Wants everything because he is entitled but he wants you to pay for it.
I'm sure OweMalley got a legal opinion from his father-in-law the retired state attorney general that this was the proper course of action. Perhaps we should erect a statue to OweMalley for reaching into his own pocket to remove this 'junk' from the mansion!
Why does the governor need a 20000 mansion in Maryland???
Hogan is a one term joker, if he lasts that long.
ObamaMalley BS.
