more common sense from Hogan. Still having to focus on cleaning up Omalley's messes.
A reduction in the license fee for asbestos removal contractors and veterinarians. Most vets charge as much or more than a people doctor. Reduced fee for Homeless ID card to $1.00. Ok, great but how does that help us people with jobs? Older folks with "Golden Pass" can launch boats for free, well that must be a western shore thing because I've never seen a public boat ramp around here that charges money. Here's an idea: Eliminate the Flush tax that doubled or the fees for having water or electric on a private dock. Make driver's license have a longer expiration or reduce the fee and reduce vehicle registration fees. These things help the working people.
Kind of Related- I just stopped by Royal Farms at 13 & Main. People in front of me used a mostly broken "independence" card. Only the top quarter including strip but no name, like it was snapped in half. They bought 2 fruit punches, then somehow took out cash with a pin # at the register and bought Newport cigarettes with the cash given. How can this be ? Aren't those cards for Milk and bread ?
2:16 I think they used to be. There are different funds on those cards now. There is an amount for food stamps and another amount that is there welfare benefits. This is what someone once told me when I questioned it so I can't be positive this is actually the case.
I bet Hogan's new look, albeit temporary, scares the crap out of the democratic controlled Maryland legislature. The dems think it's funny when their man rules by the pen, but are up in arms when a Republican does it. When a Dem does it, it is detrimental to the citizens. When a Republican does it, it benefits the citizens.

It's a start, but after reviewing the cuts and eliminations, there are very few that impact the average working person.
