Incident: DUI
Date of Incident: 17 August 2015
Location: 1300 block of South Division Street, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Dana Lynn Gorham, 31, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 17 August 2015 at 4:40 PM a deputy was sent to check the welfare of a woman that would be identified as Dana Gorham who was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was waiting in a parking lot to pick up her child. Upon approach to Gorham, the deputy detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage, that coupled with other physical indicators supported the idea that Gorham was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Gorham refused to submit to sobriety testing, so based on the observations of the deputy and statements made by Gorham; she was placed under arrest for DUI. Gorham did provide a breath sample during processing which measured .23.
Gorham was released upon the issuance of citations.

Location: Ocean Gateway at Hobbs Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Brian Lee Walterhoefer, 24, Hebron, MD
Narrative: On 18 August 2015 at 1:30 AM, a deputy on patrol observed a vehicle in a ditch, facing the wrong way off of Ocean gateway in the area of Hobbs Road. Upon approach to the vehicle, the deputy observed the operator, Brian Walterhoefer, slumped over in the driver’s seat with his eyes closed. The deputy observed the engine was running and the headlights were on. Upon waking Walterhoefer, the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from within the vehicle. As Walterhoefer exited the vehicle and attempted to walk from the vehicle, the deputy observed that he could not keep his balance.
Following the administration of sobriety testing, the deputy placed Walterhoefer under arrest. During subsequent processing, Walterhoefer refused to submit to a breath test.
Walterhoefer was released upon the issuance of citations.
