A Viewer Writes: Delmarva Online internet service

Dear Mr. Albero,

I am wondering if you have heard anything about a lcoal business, Delmarva Online who seem to have disappeared without any notice to their customers and users: Delmarva Online, LLC 808 Priscilla Street Salisbury, MD 21804 Tel: 410-749-7898 800-220-9262 888-210-4547.

Their internet service has stopped (as of Saturday morning at 10:AM). They do not answer any of the various telephone numbers that they list. Nor do they return voice mails. Emails to their technical support queue are returned as undeliverable.

They also do business as Purespeed Internet. Perhaps there is more here to the story, but I would assume this affects many people in the Delmarva area.

Isn't that part of Draper Communications?

Father of "Draper One" pilot?

Delmarva OnLine? Wow, I thought they were defunct years ago! They were the first local ISP, started by Tom Draper about 1995 or so. They had a young girl named Penny Austin doing their TV commercials; she was a real babe. The better question is what happened to her.

I had them 20 or so years ago as dual up. When Comcast came around it was like BUH BYE!!!

I had no idea they were still around?? Is it still that slow dual up service???

Actually, ICnet was around before that, until it was bought out into Delmarva Online. They were located in Fruitland on Rt. 13 South.

I am a customer of Delmarva Online. There has been no interruption to my service. I'm using it now.

Draper must be broke.

I was always surprised to see they were around this long, guessing the wireless ptp was keeping them going for a while longer. I don't know of a single person/business that is still using their services.

I would use bloosurf before going back to them if that says anything(if commiecast dies), those guys were a bunch of stuck up losers, had to deal with them when they bought out ezy.net years upon years ago.

Man this thread brings back some memories of dial up BBS's in the area.

Reply to 7:26AM

Would if that could be the same Penny-Austin Richardson that won the Wboc Jefferson Award at Seaford high school?

Things that make you go hmmmmm...

Technology outpaced their ability to keep up.

My Delmarva Online internet service is working. There's been no problem.

What's dual up service?

Myself and coworker both still use Delmarva Online. Although neither of us were emailing on Saturday, our emails are working fine now with no sign of disruption.

I would be very careful when using the email that is provided from such a small company.

I used to use CCISP and they closed down without any notice or warning. One day my email was suddenly no longer working.

The worse part was that some websites that I had registered using my CCISP email would not let me change my account information because it required sending an email to that old account which no longer existed.

Website seems to be down!

I've used Delmarva Online for over 15 years until the service totally stopped, without warning, last week, April 19, 2016. I've left messages on both their Tech. Support and Admn. extensions, with no return calls. I have soooo much of my correspondence and email contact info. on that site -- any advance notice of its termination would have helped a lot. Does anyone know what's going on? :/

April 25 2016- I've had HUGE issues with these guys for a Calendar year, I was a former ANNAPOLIS.NET customer before Delmarva Online bought them out and since April of 2015, LAST YEAR, I've had sporadic use of my paid for email address, one I've used for decades and don't wish to change due to that BRANDING of sorts. ANYONE have ANY idea how to speak to a HUMAN with this company???? Thanks!

I just filed a BBB complaint because I have been trying to cancel my account for months. I wasn't using it to log on the internet only using web mail. I can't get any response from a human. I keep getting an emailed bill every month. it errors out if it try to pay. I just want the email account cancelled but I can't reach anyone from the company. It's like a computor is doing the monthly bill email and the automated reply that I get if I email the support team.

It seems we have our service as of April 27th 2016. I too have emailed, called and no one is responding . If anyone knows any information, would you please respond to this thread.

Thank you,
