Scientists claim that Autism has been around for over 1000 years and has remained consistently as prevalent as it is today – with 1 in every 166 in the U.S. being born with autism.
However, within the Amish community autism does not exist. Why is this? It looks like the answer to this question lead to a bigger revelation about the cause of autism itself.
Since they have been cut off for hundreds of years from American culture and scientific progress, the Amish may have had less exposure to some new factor triggering autism in the rest of population. The likely culprit: vaccines.
Traveling to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country in search of autistic Amish children, the reporter, based on national statistics, should have found as many as 200 children with autism in the community — instead, he found only three, the oldest age 9 or 10: -

yup altered genomes of Americans transformed by GMO crops and vaccines
Down in Louisiana just a few miles from New Orleans as the song goes ..
Tulane Ubiversity recently had an accident where Bioweapon research was released into the environment .. the Bacteria has a 20% kill rate in Southeast Asia where it was first found ..
they say they were working on a vaccine... why don't they do that research in Massachusetts at Harvard? instead of the South?
Say what you will, but they don't acknowledge autism like everyone else does.More attention is given to teaching "different children".They are viewed as "special" children who are put on Earth for special reasons.
They breed well.
sure thats why, or maybe it is for the same reason hungry kids ar never allergic to peanut butter.
They do. I personally know an Amish cabinet maker with an autistic grandson.
How's about a limited gene pool?
What they accept as Autism is significantly more pronounced than what is generally accepted....and they respond with group parenting!
They probably have kids with autism, but just aren't officially diagnosed.
The problem starts with the government redefining what autism means and the nonsense Autism Spectrum Disorder. Now children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome are classified as being on the autism spectrum. Many other socially unacceptable medical and/or behaviour conditions are being classified as autism all because of political correctness. Also has a lot to do with standardized testing too, which can be modified (made easier) to accommodate the child with "autism."
This raises test scores making it appear the schools are doing better than they are.
THis article is totally inaccurate. I know first hand that the Amish do overwhelmingly vaccinate their children. The don't shun modern medicine and certainly not so modern practices like vaccines. They donate organs, receive organs, undergo necessary surgeries and not so necessary like Lasik corrective eye surgery.
The reason the rate is lower can be summed up in a few words-the US Public School System and the fact that the Amish shun that and operate their own schools.
Right. Anymore a kid that's shy is autistic. A kid whose mind wanders more than what the schools think is acceptable is autistic. A kid with ants in their pants is autistic. Yep it's all because then the schools can use to their advantage having more students 'diagnosed' with something whether it's altering test scores or receiving more federal and state grants. Let's not even forget to mention the "therapists" who work for FOR PROFIT companies contracted out by the public schools. It is in their benefit and their goal to find something wrong with every student that they can.
What 11:50 said. The Amish suffer from a number of genetic ailments.
Not really "a number" 3:37. Really only 2 genetic disorders-dwarfism and Angelman Syndrome which is severe developmental disabilities, seizures, repetitiveness, and unusual and frequent laughter.
A few metabolic disorders are unusually high most often "Maple Syrup Urine Disease" (urine smells like maple syrup." MSUD is life threatening and cause severe neurological damage if left untreated. It is controllable by diet if caught shortly after birth.
Those three genetic disorders are severe enough to point out the drawbacks of a limited gene pool in a breeding population.
Vaccines? How about food?
Americans consume (thank you, FDA) THOUSANDS of complex chemicals and additives in their food every year.
Many of those chemicals and additives are poorly understood and have no long term studies done on their effects. Many are cancer causing toxins.
But one thing is clear -- profits are up!!
Your health and safety? Autism rates? Cancer rates? Secondary to profit. In fact, not even "secondary".....more like, uh, um...I don't know --- what's the term for "not on the list at all"???
Keep cheering.
