Salisbury Independent - Liberal Left Wing Trying to 'RESET'

Hi Joe -

This morning I noticed the latest edition of the Salisbury Independent was put out at the fast food restaurant I attend. I would like for you to read what Mike Dunn published on the liberal left wing - Salisbury Independent. He has, once again, 'cherry picked' the photos and information regarding his reporting on the BHS. The orginal JMB High School & JMB Junior High schools never contained the vast ball fields that have been constructed behind their original sites. In fact, his article just flat out failed to STATE THE TRUTH, whereby he just flat out distorts the truth. http://salisburyindependent.net/

IMHO - it is obivious that the Salisbury Independent has become the 'megaphone' for liberal bias if not more liberal than ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and National Public Radio.

According to my analysis, SBYNEWS is by far the most fair, balanced, and centrist news outlet for the entire eastern shore region. I commend you and your staff for a superb job. Please keep up the great work!!!!

What can I say. I agree wholeheartedly, The Salisbury Independent is not at all independent. It is biased news - Tabloid at best.

Dunn is a disgrace to Salisbury.

I also agree with the write-in letter-to-editor. I look at all of the new ancillary ball fields that have been recently constructed behind the existing BMS - I to am amazed. There are vast amounts of lands that have been acquired to build the fenced in fields. To say the schools don't have adequate area is a lie. Just go out there and look for yourself.

That came off of his blog One Salisbury. Funny thing is, he is always bashing or questioning Culver in his ramblings. Not very "one" anything. Dunn thinks he is something special. Huge mistake that Culver invited him on West Salisbury tour. Culver was trying to extend an olive branch so I give him credit for that. Dunn on the other hand showed no class.

I agree.

Is Dunn and his wife still swinging. They were at the last AdultFriendFinder event I went to out of town. They didn't expect to see us there. One was showing off the new implants and the other one was trying to hide in embarrassment. Well, you know what I mean.

Yes folks that is the kind of person Mike Dunn is. He spends time seeking out new partners on adult XXX sites. That's a fact Jack. And he wants to pretend he is a better person to run the County.

"According to its owner, operator and major contributor, his product is the best and most fair."

In other news, Starbucks asserts that their coffee is the best, and all competitor brands will give you cancer.

You are absolutely correct and that is the same thing I was going to comment on. Bennett Middle School and BHS already has numerous baseball and softball fields on site so don't let them Bullshit you thinking there is no room. There is also that 40 acres or so of land with another baseball field, track and football field right next to South Division Street. You ride by it every single day and you fell for John Fredericksen and Dustin Mills Bullshit hook, line and sinker.

Remember the council meeting when Campbell called Dunn out for a lie that he had told and her totally lost his cool ranting like a child that she had called him a "liar?" This post made me think of that and smile.

Anonymous said...

They, Dunn and his group, are once again making a mountain out of a mole hill OR if you prefer, are flat out lying.

Culver wants the ball fields built on a different piece of property near the school. This article and the attacks on Culver are simply a sham. Only sbynews provides the truth.

What I am really loving is that Culver is shining a light on all the BS that goes on in this town and county. Little by little they are all being exposed as frauds. It is about time. They have been protected too long. Power to the people has a whole new meaning.

JoeAlbero said...

Dustin Mills has become an embarrassment to the Republican Party because he's a liar. He is a football coach at the school and is acting like a crybaby Liberal because he's not getting his way. What's Fredericksen always saying to Jimmy, suck it up buttercup.

Anonymous said...

why don't they just go and build a 100,000 seat coliseum while they are at it?

just think of the dollars we could get from outside?

yeah, it might take 50 years to pay for it, but just think of the dollars we could get. Course by then, we'd have to tear it down and build it another, cause, you know, it's old and stuff.

I agree with several of the other above posters.

When I attended BMS in 1974 there was (1) baseball field located at the corner of S. Division & College Ave. And the BHS had (1) football field located behind the school with access off of College Avenue. The tennis courts were located just behind the football field.

Go out there now and count the number of ball fields. There are more ball fields and open space today, than there was in 1974. That is a fact. So Mike Dunn needs to take a hike because his pail doesn't hold water.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Dunn should have known that the public was going to call his bluff on this one. There are new ball fields located everywhere out there. What's he whining about, does he want to construct a ball field for every team sport?
His assertion that there isn't any room is absolutely ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

To 1:45 Poster that said there are more ball fields today than there was 40 years ago (1974).

I would also like to add that there are less students today than there was in 1974. Dunn is out of touch with reality.

What does Mike Dunn actually do to earn a living? I'm sure swinging isn't it.

No, but he loves to be around the men while the wives swing. I have to admit her new assets looked pretty good on her. Although I had to laugh at Mr. Inch Worm because he loved frolicking with the husbands at these events he was very jealous of other men. The events he wanted to go to were the same sex events if you know what I mean.

Reminds me of that song Just-a-Swangin!

Scary to think about all of the years that Sby/Wicomico residents were being hoodwinked by the only local media around (Daily Times). The Salisbury Independent is trying to reestablish an old base that has found itself floundering especially after the results of the last election.

Anonymous said...

I think we should go to our local businesses and ask them NOT to allow that trash newspaper at their business. Or we can go get them when delivered and take to humane society and use for cat litter.

Who is with me?

I agree with you Joe about Dustin Mills being a Turncoat with the Conservatives on this JMB fiasco. Dustin Mill started a Facebook page to get support for the sports fields. This is what it says.

"We support JMB Phase 3, an athletic complex for Wicomico County that will provide a complete educational experience and a sense of pride in our community."

How in Sam Hell will an educational complex provide a complete education experience for any student in high school. Dustin Mills is a complete idiot and I thought he was a better person than that. You can look at him now and tell that he wasn't to bright. He majored in Phys Ed obviously. LMFAO.

Some of his followers Save Phase 3 are a BIG F'N JOKE as well.

Little Dustin's Followers:
Jacob Day
Stevie Prettyman
Ron Pagano
Jamie Heater
Greg Bassett
Susan Parker

Need I go on! LMAO the rest of the supporters clicked like just because he invited them. I think it is backfiring on him though. Even JR is against Phase 3.

SU wants to purchase the field on the corner of College and S. Division that's why Dunn is involved. They also want to put in a new football and lacrosse field.

Anonymous said...

I don't claim to know anything about softball so I wanted to state that up front. From a dollars and cents side, couldn't everyone use the baseball stadium off Rte. 50 when regular games aren't being played? The schools have school buses during the day, to take kids back and forth to school. Or, how about using what you have before you start crying wolf and foul because we need another field to play games in.

During the dark ages, I went to JMB and we certainly didn't have all the luxuries the kids have now.

There are so many places to play all kinds of sports here in town that it is getting out of hand. Somewhat like having a gas station and drug store on every corner.

Put my taxpayer money to better use. How would this be, if the kids actually were taught how to speak, read, and write. All would benefit especially them. As it is they can't talk without slang, and forget about their math skills. This is where the dollars should go into books for everyone.

Personally, I think it is beyond time to get off the school kick. There are too many other issues that need to be resolved.

I support Mr. Culver and I for one am appreciative that he is trying to save us all for paying such ridiculously high taxes.

That field belongs to Wicomico County and I can assure you it will stay in the hands of Wicomico County as long as we have a school on that property.

Now the fat blogger is claiming there is a petition out there to put on the referendum to do away with the County Executive.

2:43 anything that group supports, we need to run from - especially if flip flopper, backstabbing, Bennett voting Prettyman thinks it is a good idea. She gives the expression "dumb blonde" a bad name.

Anonymous said...

2:41...that is the solution..i always talked to stores that advertise with DT AND WBOC .. and let them know of my displeasure...hit them in the pocket book

Anonymous said...

2:43 hilarious. couldn't agree more. wish we'd never have to see her name again. she is the primary reason everyone is at odds over Bennett. she didn't have the backbone to stand up as a republican. the snakes charmed her and she fell for it. dumb doesn't begin to describe her.

3:30 pipe dream.. the education system in MD is a scam..i bet 2cents of everydollar makes it to the claasrooom..my daughter gets no books from JMB. A school voucher program needs to be in place...allowing us to control the money and who gets it.....Dunn is a crook and should never be trusted he is a libtarded idiot...one of the good ole boys with allot of shady backers..

Anonymous said...

I fully support our newly elected County Executive 100%. He probably sees right through the smoke screen that is being propagated by the BOE officials. It is high time for the multitudes of people to get a break from these high taxes as opposed to special interest being the recipients. They have enough ball fields in this town. Between Fruitland, Salisbury's Parker complex, and now they want to build even more. How about all of the ball fields out at Beaver Run? So many ball fields that one can get lost in the maze.

Anonymous said...

I do not know why anyone would want to advertise in the Salisbury Independent, or, The Daily Times for that matter. Just look at the millions of people that pour into Sbynews everyday. Want exposure, its right before your very eyes. My advise, don't waste your money on any of the other medias. Let Sbynews be you go to advertiser. It is money well spent in my book.

Anonymous said...

Salisbury News is the best news source in my opinion to. No argument here. If you want the scoop or lowdown on any local event, you had better check here first. All of the other local meadias are old news by the time it gets to print.

Anonymous said...

One has to wonder why the Independent always seems to lean against and chastise our new exec. It would be nice to hear them say something positive as opposed to always ridiculing him. It's definitely a left wing bias.

Anonymous said...

5:34 that is because Dunn is devoid of all moral ethics and character

Anonymous said...

Mike Dunn is a salesman: he sold the slanted news when he worked as a talking head on WBOC, did the same in Baltimore for the short time they allowed him to be there; sold subscriptions to WSCL when he was corporate fundraiser there (another failure); sold medical supplies for Apple drug (a sympathy job from Jeff Scherr - failed at that, too); and sold Salisbury down the river with the WWTP and his Sassafras Meadows sale (yes, his name was on the deed when he brought it to council for approval), as well as with the city fireworks and Festival of Lights, which he himself made go away when he was council president.
He rants, he lies, he whines when he doesn't get his way. His narcissism pushes the needle over the red line. It's all about him, and no one else. It's all about other people's money, not his, each and every time he spouts.

What he's looking for is enough of a fan base to support him in a public do-nothing job, or one that he will turn into a do-nothing job. He's looking for power without personal effort or investment. He will lie and cheat to do it. It's what he does -- he's a salesman, and his main product is himself.

As for his alleged sexual escapades or proclivities, I have no clue, but it will cause me to look at those who hang with and/or admire him in a slightly different light and from a greater distance.

Greg is influenced by a little clique that thinks they are above the rest of us and are all knowing. Check out his Facebook page and see who likes his stuff and Dunn's stuff and it isn't hard to figure out who they are. Every day people see Culver chipping away at the horrible culture that has had a strangle hold on our county government. This clique can't stand to see their so-called power slipping away. I find it amusing because regardless of how much they huff and puff, the PEOPLE (remember them?) are on Culver's side and will prevail. BTW, keep an eye on Cannon, MHolloway and Hall who are trying to cause Culver problems and their leader Creamer who tells them what to do. They too will be exposed for just who and what they are.

Anonymous said...

Cannon is another Dunn just heavier, Holloway is for a higher government job, and Hall is just a blowhard jerk. All three of them love using taxpayer's money and never their own. Holloway and Day are best buds so I have to wonder which one of them is cooking the stew, and which one is selling it???

Anonymous said...

Cannon wants to be County Executive that is why he will undermine Culver, but it will backfire as his duplicity is exposed. True Republicans will work hard to make the public aware of his liberal leanings and his questionable friends. Matt Holloway will NEVER get a job with a Republican governor based on his liberal RINO votes. Hall is just a boozer. Marc Kilmer is such a breath of fresh air. Those other 3 can't hold a candle to him.

The other mistake they are making is Culver has the relationship with Hogan - not them. Hogan really likes Culver which is great for our County. The three amigos ought to be doing all they can to support Culver. They are screwing up big time.

Anonymous said...

Kind of looks like Mike Dunn is going to run for something. This man seemed to come out of left field as I haven't seen much of him after he departed company from the City Council. With so much luggage, I wonder who would vote for him.

Anonymous said...

I think Dunn is out of order. My question is why would anyone want to tear down a perfectly sound multi-million dollar building - only to submit for yet another capital improvement project in the nearby future to house a new administrative facility. The surplus facility is already there - they just doesn't want to admit it, and make the best use of an existing County resource.

Anonymous said...

Dunn when he didn't run again for city council, "I just want my life back."
Then he moved out of the city for the county side of Tony Tank, accompanied by his self-proclaimed millionaire status (courtesy of the council and Tom Ruark with the
Sassafras Meadows deal).
He's quiet for a couple of years, then moves back into the city and pays cash for a $250,000 house on Forest Lane. This without a job. Go figure.
He has money and he has backers, and none of it is kosher.

Anonymous said...

I pity you who are swayed by his empty rhetoric. He has sold you a bridge that neither you nor he does not own.

Mr. Culver's suggestion to consider the BMS building for Board of Ed staff has merit.

There is already a track around a football field; they could stand improvement but are in place.

East Salisbury school is an old building with a disadvantageous layout. It does have a couple of later additions at each end. Compared to BMS not an attractive parcel.

The fly in the ointment is that state money flows much more generously for new construction and sparingly for renovation. This results in the 'edifice complex' in the JMB plans and new BMS which were well underway before the superintendent was hired.

If you or I owned BMS we'd be making repairs and utilizing it rather than bulldozing it.

Anonymous said...

Surely Dunn should have known he was going to get called out on his fabrication concerning the lack of space for ball fields. With every graduating class occurring each spring, there are approximately 300 people being spun-out each cycle. Many of those people know full well what was there when they attended - many of whom still live here.

Bassett should issue a retraction of the article and apologize for fabricating the entire story. Look what happened to Brian Williams.

Anonymous said...

JT doesn't like Bob Culver because Bob won't give him the time of day. I have to hand it to Bassett, as many times as he's been kicked to the curb he seems to pop back up, Dunn will kick him down soon enough, as soon as he is done helping Dunn get elected to the key club.

Anonymous said...

Didn't Dunn kick his first wife to curb in favor of marrying a high school girl? He is the absence of all things respectable.

Anonymous said...

To 1:00 AM Poster - that said;
'If you or I owned BMS we'd be making repairs and utilizing it rather than bulldozing it.'

I agree. And as far as making the decision based on whether or not the State is paying for it - I would opt for the County to pay for the renovations all by ourselves. When one factors-in Western Shore politics - (ie. union labor scales, Davis Bacon, environmental, EPA) - the State money comes with long strings attached. We have seen & experienced this before.

Anonymous said...

Responding to 8:27 Poster that said; Bassett should issue a retraction of the article and apologize for fabricating the entire story.

I also believe he should apologize and issue a retraction. He obviously didn't read what was being published by Dunn, or, if he did then he is a co-conspirator and is also perpetrating falsehoods. Either way - Mike Dunn certainly has egg on his face on this one.
