Dover Man Charged In Sexual Offenses Against Juveniles in His Care

Dover - The Delaware State Police have charged William Semonavick Jr., 67 of Dover, in connection with alleged sexual offenses that occurred when he owned and operated a residential daycare in the late 90s.

The investigation began in January 2015 when two victims came forward to report they had been sexually abused while they attended Village Kids Daycare Center, located at 1460 John Clark Road back in the late 1990s. One of the female victims was 4-years-old when she attended the facility from approximately January 1996 until her parents withdrew her in March 1997. During that time period, it was alleged that William Semonavick had sexually abused her on at least three different occasions. The second female victim was 6-years-old and had experience similar experiences with Semonavick while she attended the daycare between November 1998 until December 2000.

Village Kids Daycare is currently closed and records indicate it was licensed from 1995 until 2008. The two victims, who are now 22 years of age, contacted state police after both had confided in one another about their similar experiences while attending the daycare.

Semonavick turned himself into detectives on Friday February 20, 2015 at Troop 3 where he was charged with three counts of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse 1st, two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact 2nd, and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. He was arraigned at JP2 and has since been released on $13,000.00 secured bond.

Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victims, only limited information will be released.

If anyone feels they may have been a victim to Semonavick, they are asked to contact Detective P. Surowiec at 302-741-2814. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."

Dear OLD WHITE MEN. If women your age don't want to see your wrinkly old a$$, neither do kids. When you feel the urge to violate a child, cut your parts off (Not like they work anyway) and shoot yourself in the face.

You could always try my kids...but I'm good out to 1400 yards, and follow the SSS rules of life. It would save you the embarrassment of courts documents, paper and blog articles, etc.

He was on their watch list for years, but like Delawares Registered Sex Offenders that they lose all the time, he slipped thru the cracks.

There is NO EXCUSE for these animals "slipping through the cracks." I have heard this for years when good police work could have saved children a life time of pain and therapy. For every child that is discovered there are usually many many more that go undiscovered. If someone is suspected, then there should be a watch...ESPECIALLY if they are running a day care. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME???? A day care owner??? WTF. Good rule of thumb....if there is a doubt... take them out. The kids that is.

Where does it say he was on their watch list for years?

Most of these creeps are not flying totally below the radar...the law gets tips...but tips are not enough to arrest these animals. One note....they always find a way to be around lots of kids. ALWAYS!! If you look at the arrest records of these animals you will see they always work where children are or they volunteer with children. This is known by ALL law enforcement.
