Officials: 2 bodies found at site of Maryland mansion fire

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Officials say investigators have found the bodies of two people in the charred remains of an Annapolis-area mansion that burned to the ground earlier this week.

Anne Arundel Fire Department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies said cadaver dogs and searchers found the bodies Wednesday. He said four people remain unaccounted for.

Property records show the home is owned by Sandra and Don Pyles.

They and four grandchildren have been missing since crews were called early Monday to the scene of the blaze, which reduced a 16,000-square-foot waterfront castle to ruins. Officials said Tuesday that relatives believed the family was inside the mansion when it caught fire.

How in the heck can you have a 9 million dollar home, and not have a high tech fire alarm and/or fire suppression system?

So sad. It is hard to comprehend these kinds of tragedies.

OMG, this doesn't bode well for finding the children alive.

So sad. My heart goes out to the family.
