Frontier Airlines will outsource about a third of its total employment base as it works to mold itself into an ultra-low fare airlines, the Denver Business Journal reported.
The company will hire outsourcing companies to handle reservations, ramp work and other duties in Milwaukee and Denver. About 1,300 jobs are affected.
Frontier has sharply reduced its flight schedule from New Castle County Airport with service to Tampa and Orlando.
It will halt service in the spring and resume flights to at least one Florida destination in the winter.
