Study: Best Cities to Live in Maryland

When you think of Maryland, crab cakes and Orioles baseball may be the first things that come to mind but there's so much more to see, do and explore. Despite being one of the smallest states in the U.S., it's also one of the busiest thanks to its diverse economy and booming tourism trade. Steeped in history, Maryland is a state of firsts and it continues to be a leader in the 21st century.

While Baltimore is the largest city, there's a lot to be said for some of the smaller towns and suburbs that are scattered throughout the state. From the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay area to the majestic peaks of the western mountains, you're sure to find a spot to call home. To help with your search, the CreditDonkey experts have studied which cities in Maryland are the best places to live for fresh transplants and seasoned residents alike.

Funny that Salisbury made the list!

With a crime rate that high and the potential for employment that low, the remaining metrics are meaningless!

The best places to live in Maryland are right over the border in a neighboring state!

Salisbury has the highest crime rate and the most fast food restaurants and the lowest average income. Go figure.

Salisbury listed # 10 -must be because of the # degreed residents. Small town, overstaffed college would help explain that.

Odds on being a crime victum though are twice as great as the next closest town, more than EIGHT times greater than others, five times greater than the norm. If the "leaders" want to revitalize the place they need to start there.

The next step is address the Education system that emphasises buildings ad spending money while ignoring developement of their charges. There is no business coming here that will be bringing employees with school age children because of the poor quality of eduction.

Pthose numbers for crime and education make this study look flawed. How much did they city pay for this "ranking??"

Residents with Bachelors degree or higher is only 27.8%??? What the heck! We have Salisbury University, UMES, Wor Wic, Wilmington University and numerous online programs available and that is the best we can do??? Good job Jim Ireton, Jake Day and Laura Mitchell. How embarrassing for our city. This proves that this study was rigged just liked the city elections.

8:36 am don't forget Josh Hastings. He is running for office and he is intimately associated with Jim Ireton and Laura Mitchell. He worked on their campaigns to help them get elected and he is an officer in the local Democrat Club. He is one of the head losers in that club.

Don't forget Cambridge with their empty factories and retail buildings. Travel through town and marvel at the empty buildings and slums. Reminds you of Detroit! I guess the only thing going for them is the Hyatt which is gated to keep the problems out.

Maybe it should be a "top 9" list.
