A Howard County student who unfurled a Confederate flag at a high school football game was disciplined, according to a spokeswoman for the school system.
Rebecca Amani-Dove, the spokeswoman, would not say what type of action was taken against the Glenelg student who displayed the flag while standing at the top of the bleachers during the season opener between Glenelg and River Hill high schools on Friday night. The student was immediately told to take the flag down.
“Carrying a Confederate flag is not illegal, but anything that causes disruption is actionable from an administrative perspective,” Amani-Dove said. “Administrative action was taken in alignment with our student code of conduct.”

I grew up in Howard County and actually attended Glenelg. This is not a yuppie school and all my friends from school are not liberals by any means. Yes time could have changed but this school sit out in the middle of nowhere. It seems the liberals have all moved to the country and want to screw things up.

As far as the student displaying it.....dumb....maryland wasnt a southern state in the civil war so the flag has no meaning save for ignorance.....

Are you that much of an IDIOT!! Maryland was a Southern State. Anything South of the Mason Dixon Line was a Southern State. Did Maryland secede from the Union? I bet you don't know why? Hint: There is a difference between a Southern State and a Confederate State.
The mason dixon line had nothing to do with the separation of our country during or after the civil. No maryland didnt secede. Maryland is considered a MID ATLANTIC state.
Maryland wasnt even a state in the 1700's when the mason dixon line, a british land dispute was created. If your going to call someone who is correct in his facts an idiot maybe check your facts before you make a foolish post

Any of hour Southern history is condemned in the public schools. All they know is SLAVERY was the cause of the Civil War by those Rich Redneck Southerners.

Again the mason dixon line was pre civil war by nearly one hundred years. The flag flown by people who think they are cool was just a battle flag. It was later used by the kkk to scare and intimidate black people. So let me get this right. Flying a flag meant for battle on the losing side of the civil war then used by a truly dumb bunch of white people who had to hide behind a hood to scare black people....makes you look very stupid.....ignorance is bliss.......
