Right Or Wrong?

It's a delicate situation. One could argue that they should have simply gotten the car towed. On the other hand, if there is a fire that needs attention, they cannot wait for a phone call to be placed, and a tow truck to show up. A slightly damaged car is much better than lives lost due to this person's stupidity and blatant disregard for the law.

absolutely correct. i hope the owner gets fined and then towed after the fire

Not enough. Two windows, they don't get the picture. Bring in a grapple, and lift the car, by the roof, and throw it somewhere.

If and when you park in front of a hydrant then we have no choice. We can't waste time going door to door looking for you and we don't have the time to waste waiting on some tow truck to move it so this is our only option.

After all it is their fault, it's illegal to park in front of a hydrant.

you could have simply said "right"

3:34 My apologies for having a higher intellect and being able to express my point of view. I suppose 3:26 is guilty as well, for simply explaining their stance as well. I'm so glad that you took the time to write a comment, completely unrelated to the picture that Joe posted, just so you could attack me. Do you feel better about yourself?

2:55 throw it in the fire!

right or wrong, would be enough said

right

Looks like a Blake 4 way valve and the supply hose should have been connected 90 degrees to avoid the hose kink and vehicle. Right message - wrong way to send it.

"RIGHT"
and also if they had used they had cut the doors off the would have been better supply pressure..lol

TY 5:02
I find it to be intentional damage. Could have been handled differently.

Couldn't they have just thrown a winch cable under, then up and over the car and pulled it to a new location? Why kink a perfectly good supply hose?

couldnt they have simply put the hose OVER the car? Really how much hose did they save going thru the windows?? Not saying car should have been there in 1st place... just overkill to make a point IMO

Anonymous said...

Yeah, it's overkill... fine them for the parking violation and try to do as little damage as possible. This is malicious destruction of property and it would have taken less time to throw the hose over the car than to break out the windows and thread it through the car.
Don't park in front of a hydrant and stupid hateful people will not be able to damage your property when seconds count.

Right or Wrong. The law say, Do not park in front of a fire hydrant. That's the bottom line.

ginn said...

Wrong.., they should have pulled it far enough away with a chain and a truck. It wouldn't have taken much time at all to slide the car sideways and make room for the connection.

So the firemen get to enforce the law now? I'm not saying what the driver did was right but what right does the fire department have to damage some idiots car instead of going over or around it.

So they were disposed to take an extra 5 minutes to hook a chain up, put a truck in position, pull the car, unhook the car, move the truck back where they need it. Really, that 5 minutes can be the difference between 1 room loss from fire to the entire house being a loss.

You can't charge a 5" supply hose around a car. If you had ever seen one being charged with water then you'd know the extreme pressure being exherted on that hose.

The damage done to the car if they had thrown the hose over the car would have been worse than the damage you see here. When you change that hose it's strong enough to litt a car like this off it's wheels.

Like said to another poster, it would have caused even more damage to this vehicle if they had put it over the car. The power of this 5" hose being charged is enough to lift this car off the ground. As an example if you were to try and hold a 5" line while it was being charged and it had a bend in it, it would straighten out hard enough to throw you 10ft.

2-3 trained men can barely control a 2.5" line. You would be amazed by the strength of a charged hose line.

I've worked on many fire trucks and never once seen one with a winch. Only the brush trucks (F350 4x4) trucks have them.

They are not getting much flow past that kink…..With that valve they could have gone around the car.

Anonymous said...

100% right! It is illegal. My neighbors park from one end of my property to the other. I can only hope if I had a hydrant and one of our houses was on fire you would put that hose through that car. 3:26, thank you for sharing the situation from your eyes.

The Farmin like doing crap like this. I know it's wrong to park their, but most farmin look for opportunities like this. Sick perversion.

I think this is great!

I recently spoke to someone about parking in front of a hydrant - they promptly told me to F...Off you cr@cker - mind your own business...

I wish this had happened to that BeeYotch!

Anonymous said...

Right and wrong, you gotta do what Johnny Law say but go over the car unless you have to make your redneck statement. What are the chances of the illegal parker being an off duty cop or fireman or someone with an emergency? Just sayin....

Anonymous said...

oh, 208, you think an off duty cop or farmin is somehow exempt from this law? What a liberal progressive idiot Democrat!

We are a nation of laws, and that driver is breaking one, and deserves whatever consequences happen after his ignorance of the laws.

Drilling the hole through the car is not out of the reasonable solutions here.

I think it's right. The idiot parked it there cuz he thought he was special. All of you would be screaming from the top of your lungs if your family had been trapped in the house and they needed water from the hydrant to save them. Good for the fire department.

A group of people picked up and bounced the car away enough to remove the kink. And to the one who said they could have hooked the hose up to the other valves, the other valves are for tankers to hook up and apply pressure above the hydrant pressure, and you can't hook the hose up so it is at a 90 degree angle as it will lose pressure due to friction.

Learning is a wonderful thing.
