That is there first fire of the year and they made another parking lot. All that equipment at the scene of that fire and the building is a total loss. It was a total loss before the fire and the city wasted all their resources on that fire. What a wastes. Get rid of that wannabe fire chief Rick Hoppes.
It looks like Salisbury relied on many volunteers to deal with just a single fire of an unoccupied building. Just imagine if was a structure fire like the hospital/Perdue/GOB/SU dorm.
I doubt seriously that property in the ghetto was worth $750,000 in this economy. Where did that fire marshal get his appraisal license. Oh that's right he has no experience in appraising property. They should keep their guesses to themselves.
This building was not unoccupied! There had been a truck repair business in this building for some time. There goes another business in the city as well as the business owner losing his livelihood.
You know what is funny? That garage is right across the street from the paid fire department and they let it burn to the ground. Remember how all those heroes get on here and brag about how great all the paid firemen are? This building was right across the street and the paid firemen let it burn to the ground. WOW such great highly trained Heroes let a garage turn into a parking lot! What happened Heroes? Talk crap now! Every volunteer fire department in the county had to back up the paid firemen on this one because they couldn't handle it. Wow is all I have to say.
To all the individuals commenting about how the fire was attacked from the outside, do you have any knowledge of proper firefighting techniques. The units on scene were presented with a large commercial structure with an extreme fire conditions thru out the structure. There was no entrapment issues and no reason to go inside the structure and risk the lives of the firefighters on scene.
6:39 It sounds like you successfully completed FF1 but have not spent much time actually fighting fires. Maybe someday you will be a real firefighter at a house that actually does firefighting. PS. Come up to Philly, we will show you how it is really done!
It is obvious that a majority of the commenters above are a., clueless about fighting fires, b., a volunteer or c., both of the above. Initial units went on location with fire through the roof of the structure, no number of firefighters, career nor volunteer, could have saved that building!

Aw some poor overpaid Farmin got their feelings hurt and still goes on the attack after the volunteers.
Funny how you never mentioned losing a building in all of your Hero speeches.

But they did go inside and the evacuation tones were set off.
Nope! Just an educated volunteer. We "farmin" do not do this for glory or to be a hero! Nor have we ever claimed to save every building or every life. That is not in our hands. Perhaps you should educate yourself and join today. Everyone is in need of dedicated volunteers!

Why do we even try to put out some fires?
We all know this is a complete loss , insurance scam at best.
Waste of time and equipment.
