Sweet and loving dog -- dearly missed by his family.

Hoping you find this baby!!!! This happened to me and this blog helped get my pit back home, mine was also stolen. I have called the number to help with my story. I also live off Riverside Dr. Praying that he is found, keeping my eyes open for this pup.
Not so long ago, someone on one of the local Facebook pet sites reported someone in a pick up truck attempting to steal dogs right out of yards around Easton area. Sites such as Craigslist have really opened the door wide for this type of theft. I would keep an eye out on any site within a few hundred mile radius, that "rehomes" dogs. Like in this dog, don't be stuck on searching for "a red nosed pitbull." The thieves in attempt to prevent getting caught will use other descriptions such as Staffordshire, etc. They tend to use the Boxer/Pit breeds interchangable as well when the dog is one of the recognized Boxer breed standards in coloring. Like for Chief, look for "boxer mix."
Let me clarify most of the information posted here. I am the person who rescued this dog from nearly being struck by a vehicle on Riverside Drive. With the help of several neighbors, citizens, friends, and the Salisbury Police Department; this dog was placed in the hands of two wonderful friends who had him taken to the proper authorities early Friday morning. He was not stolen. Everyone who helped in this effort are kind and humane beings and dog lovers. I have spoken with the owner twice since late Friday evening. Chief was in great hands and will continue to be until his return home.
He was found! We wanted to wait to see him to actually confirm. Thank you to everyone that helped!!!
Thank you for helping a dog on the loose. It is so important to be ever mindful of vulnerable dogs can be if they start to roam and keep them on a leash or be with them at all times. Some can be escape artists even in a locked yard. Be careful out there please.

I disagree though 9:24. Speculation is necessary on occasion because you want to cover all bases. Dog theft is a problem and I would totally understand and not be offended if I picked up a stray dog and there was a--- be on the lookout--- for my vehicle. I am of the firm belief that most people are good, but unfortunately there are bad too.
