If your county held a secession vote to separate from the rest of your state, would you support it? It may sound theoretical but it’s not, and there is a growing movement across America for rural counties to separate from what is often an out-of-control state government and form the 51st state.
Citizens in at least seven states are promoting secessions movements, looking to escape big-city tax and gun control policies. In fact, several counties in Colorado already voted for secession.
On this week’s Off The Grid Radio, we talk to the leader of one such state group: John Bergener of the Upstate Conservative Coalition in New York. Bergener’s group has found a unique way that New York can be split into two regions that won’t even require approval from the US Congress. It wouldn’t even technically be a new state.

The government don't care now , they have their own police that will make you do whatever.
I wouldn't call a tiny minority of ignorant rednecks rattling their rifles "sweeping the nation". I'd call it seditious nincompoopery, and if my state were full of enough of those dingbats to get a secession vote to legislature, I'd want them all brought up on charges for treason, and misuse of tax dollars.

Yet ultimately all States rest on hypocrisy and myth.
From ancient Sumer to the present, all governments have been composed of elites. All states originate in conquest and exploitation, and as elite oligarchies, exercise a monopoly of crime over their subjects through war and taxation, indoctrination and propaganda, and the conscription of resources and persons. All states or regimes are characterized by the brutal struggle for power in its diverse open and concealed forms by competing elites. The most significant political division to be observed in such internecine warfare is that between the rulers and the ruled, the “ins” and the “outs,” the elite and the non-elite.
The primary object of every government ruling elite is survival — masquerading under the rubric of “national security” — the jealous maintenance of its power, prestige, opulence and privilege against all potential rivals. All governments, no matter how ruthless and despotic (or seemingly benevolent and just), rest upon the “engineering of consent” of the gullible majority, largely by propaganda beamed at the populace by the rulers and their craven apologists in the complacent and compliant news media.
The rule of the elite is based on force or fraud. This force may be hidden or threatened, and the fraud sustained by a political formula, usually expressed as a generally accepted state religion, ideology, or series of myths. But it is the physical force of the gun that lay behind it all. And it is at your mind that every government gun is aimed.

I agree with most of your discourse but would add, while the elite have THEIR guns aimed at your mind, the informed people that have the fortitude to defend their rights, have their voices, pens and THEIR guns pointed at the elites.
They say that these few counties in the various states couldn't survive as a separate state. And, that is probably true. But, what if 4 counties in Colorado and 6 counties in MD and 7 more counties in Northern California and 5 more in... and so on and so on, were to form a 51st or even a 52nd state? As long as the people, probably rural hard working folks, were of like minds there is no reason geography would affect the union of these people.
