If you read the actual article it states that they had extra batteries in the back of the vehicle to run the strobes as a pace car and that is what caused and caught fire...not defending just putting it out there that its not just because its a chevy.

Not surprising. Every Chev I have owned has had weird problems. You would think I would learn better than to buy another, but hope springs eternally.
I drive a Chevy to work every single day. It has 325,000 miles on it. Brings me home every evening, and goes the next day. Dependably.
