Fact Check Needed!

Fact Check #1:

Widely reported and often repeated, there have been "historic cuts" made by the O'Malley/Brown administration.

Below, you will see the Maryland state budget over the last 8 years. Using simple addition and subtraction, you will see that Maryland spending has increased by more than $10 billion, a 32% increase. Apparently, government math isn't the same math you and I use in our family budgets.

If your family budget looked like this, would you talk about "historic cuts?" Would your spouse believe you? Would your bank agree that you've made cuts?

Fact Check #2:

The gas tax passed last year would fix our roads, highways, and bridges. Huge toll increases would help our commute too.

Nine months after passing the biggest gas tax increase in the history of our state, we find out that there isn't money to fix our local roads and highways. We expect the gas tax we pay at the pump to pay for all the roads we drive on. The leadership in Annapolis refuses to send our gas tax money to our counties and cities for our roads. Over the last 8 years, they've withheld $1 billion of our gas tax meant to support our local roads.

Instead of fixing our roads, the O'Malley/Brown administration is committed to building 2 new mass transit lines! Because they don't have enough left for our roads, leaders in Annapolis have concocted a plan to let Maryland counties charge their own gas tax if they want to build and fix their local roads! Yep! They want more gas taxes.

Fact Check #3:

The Maryland Health Exchange - Obamacare - will revolutionize health care.

If you like your insurance you can keep it. NOT

If you like your doctor you can keep them. NOT

The Md Health Exchange will bring affordable health insurance to the uninsured. NOT

The Md Health Exchange is working right. NOT

After spending more than $230 million, the Maryland Health Exchange is still riddled with problems. Despite the flubbed launch and nonstop problems, the Director of the Exchange was given four pay increases before she quit in December.

Is Maryland better off under The Maryland Health Exchange/Obamacare?

I guess buying up land from cronies at very high prices, who in turn give him campaign donations as payback doesn't count as spending.

9:12 Why would you even bring that up? That's par for the politician. It's to be expected. /sarcasm

C'mon you rustic rubes! OweMalley and OweBrown are talking about cuts from what they planned to spend. Take yer socks and shoes off so you can do more advanced math!
