Rand Paul: Republican Won't Be President Until There's A 'New GOP'

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has an ominous prediction for the future of his party: It won't win the White House unless it undergoes a major transformation.

"I think Republicans will not win again in my lifetime for the presidency, unless they become a new GOP, a new Republican party, and it has to be a transformation, not just a little tweaking at the edges," Paul said in an interview with conservative talk show host Glenn Beck on The Blaze.

Paul said he thinks it's better to find what those in the party can agree on and unite around those things instead of focusing on the disagreements. That is is one of the reasons why he decided to endorse the re-election bid by fellow Kentucky Sen. and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Best thing the Republicans could do is divorce the religious right. Stop taking up their bible causes and stick to the financial.

Wrong answer. They need to get rid of the 'ole guard and replaced them all with fresh need faces. The system is full of the corrupt good ole boys and girls. The House and Senate both demo and repub have made millions of dollars off the backs of the middle class, poor and the elders. It's time for new and young blood.

The Tea-Party has effectively split the Republicans....

If we can get rid of the RINO's that are left of even the center, we'll be starting to come together. Sorry to say McConnell, McCain, Collins and their ilk need to go. Concentrate on them first.....

Neither party benefits the everyday working man.

This is so true, they need to grow a pair and go after lying Democrats. If Romney had replayed Obama saying how if he "couldn't turn the country around in 4 years, then he didn't deserve another 4", and also all of his lies, he would have had a chance, but being a gentleman is a turnoff.

How about uniting around a mantra that says "we will based our decisions of in-depth factual analysis of the issues" not hyperbole, fearmongering, and scare tactics. This applies to both sides by the way.

1:47 The Tea-Party cares about the working man and bringing the country back to financial responsibilty. You are correct if you mean Democrats and establishment Republicans.

best thing 12:05 can do is pray for forgiveness. The Republicans are business-only thing is Democrats have moved in on their turf and they are all the same except Republicans are left out of the Union cash stream and the cheating that goes with it..

Many young ones and tea partiers want to get rid of everyone that understands compromise. That is why nothing gets done today. Working across the aisle is not evil or weak. It is the way to accomplish things.

9:13 Compromise with evil is evil.
That is the problem with the Republican Party. Do you see the Democrats compromising with the Republicans? Grow a spine.
