A deadly pig-killing virus called porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, or PED, that has spread to farms in 22 states may have come from China, where an almost identical virus rampaged through the Chinese hog market in 2012.
The virus arrived in the U.S. in April and thousands of piglets have died.

Always from China. If you know anyone with hogs, do them a favor and don't visit uninvited. They may even ask you to take precautions, if you plan on walking about. Shoe covers, or disinfecting shoes will be #1. They're not being mean, or saying you're dirty, but saving their animals and livelihood. A lot of pork on the shelves on grocery stores, and even butcher shops, may even be positive for PED. They're not regulating that part, so be careful. Insist on proven, reputable pork.
They were feeding them the unsold batches of sugar free gummie bears?
