Governor's Task Force Arrest Seaford Man On Gun And Drug Charges

Date of Occurrence: Monday January 13, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Defendant, Charges, and Bond Information:

Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)

Arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $6,000.00 secured bond.

Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Seaford man after he was found to be in possession of heroin.

On Monday January 13, 2014, troopers assigned to the Governor's Task Force in Sussex County received information that Shaquil Turnage was selling drugs in the Colonial Garden Apartments area. Unit members, along with the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT), established surveillance of the apartment complex and observed him enter the parking lot around 5:00 p.m. in a white Honda Accord. Troopers made contact with Turnage after he parked the vehicle in a parking space and took him into custody without incident. He found to be in possession of 86 bags of heroin totaling 1.29 grams along with .5 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Information was also obtained in reference to a handgun Turnage was reported to have in his possession. Troopers responded to his residence in Seaford where they recovered a stolen .45 caliber pistol.

Shaquil Turnage was transported back to Troop 5 near Bridgeville where he was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Receiving a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to SCI on $6,000.00 secured bond.
